my builder included a worcester bosch in his original quote. Since then his plumber has suggested a Vaillant would suit us better.
The worcester has the Which rating, appears to have a higher flow rate and is about £400 more expensive. But I get a sense it isn't great for lower water pressures.
I don't know what my water pressure is.

Any advice welcomed

I used to be a Worcester BI installer. I would now say Vailant are the better boiler. I used to swear by Worcester

Which? magazine/website sell out to the highest bidder, they are complete full of ****.

Neither. Worcester is plastic cheap ****e. Vaillant have problems at the moment with Gas vlvs & Pcb's

Fitted 3 Vaillant and all three never worked took 8 days to get Vaillant out.

Also, never allow any builder to be involved with plumbing/electrics and gas works.

Gav is 'spot-on'. Look at all those horrid Hermann Ikons that Travis Perkins (builders merchants…. need I say more?) inflicted on the UK in the 90's.

Oh Yeah, to the OP, Vaillant over Bosch. Stainless Heat Exchanger. 'Nuff said.

Hilarious, you have a very high opinion of yourself.

Go take your high horse for a dump
Had you just tooted on a crack pipe when you wrote this?

What i said is correct, never allow any builder to quote or work on any plumbing/electrics and gas works, it is only ever to the detriment of the consumer, the Goods & Services Act is quite clear in this regard.

The more people that know this the less people who will get ripped off and have substandard work done.

You and everybody else, knows exactly what i meant when i used the term.

Edit: You even list your occupation as 'builder' and you are asking me to define what a builder is, you want me to tell you what your job is? Stick to stacking bricks on top of each other pal

You seem to be under the impression that by having the title "builder" or more to the point, by not addressing yourself as "gas fitter" or "electrician" that it somehow makes you bereft of any knowledge towards the ever-so-secret world of domestic wiring and gas boilers and fitting etc.

Whilst I appreciate that all trades take some learning, as well as staying up to date and in the loop, don't think that gas boilers or electrics are beyond ordinary folk. Because they are not.

Step down off that ever so high pedestal that you put yourself upon and think about what you are saying.

...then take a long look at your own smilies and see who they are laughing at.

...don't think that gas boilers or electrics are beyond ordinary folk. Because they are not.
Regulated trades my friend, they are beyond builders by quite a far margin else you wouldn't be calling yourself a builder.

Unless you are a cowboy builder that is, lot of them about hence my advice and warning.
and think about what you are saying.
Says you, trying to get me to tell you what your job is all about.

Cheer up.

Builders constructed the great pyramids thousands of years ago and people flock to see these awe inspiring impressive creations.

No one flocks to see boiler installations or electrical wiring. In fact they would rather it was hidden from view.
