Nothing to do with the generous benefits system and free healthcare system, then? The reason half of the world wants to come here is because of our imperialist history, many countries look up to us as the people who brought them 'civilisation'.

Absolute hogwash. When do we stop? When we're actually full? If you let in a few million, where do they live? Where are all the spare hospital beds, roads, schools, jobs? They're all muzzies, don't you think we have enough taxi drivers and corner shops? Non-EU immigrants are a drain on the economy - FACT.
I really don't care about the economic side of the argument.
We are a rich nation, we can afford to take in millions (yes, millions) and house them service them and not see a huge negative effect on the economy

It took us a long time and a lot of blood to get society to where it is morally and culturally today,
Nevermind the increase in wealth, education, employment technology and general quality of life from even 20 years ago.

He's upped his prices since.I'm sure Aron was whining a couple of years back that he couldn't afford to buy a place to live.
How civilised are we now? Moaning about having to wait longer at the doctors, or sit in more traffic whilst humans are dying fleeing war zones we as a nation created.

Just for the record, I wasn't "moaning about traffic", or queuing at the doctors.
I was making the point that (regardless of whether we are rich, or not), that money is not currently going towards some basic services and infrastructure for the current population. It's easy to say "we're rich", and its easy to say "we've got housing for 5 million", but the hard part is backing up the words.

Where is the money going do you think? And how much of it is going?
And I don't think anybody is suggesting we have housing for 5 million. What about 1% of that though?
But ordinary Brits gain very little. 20 or 30 years ago, ordinary people could afford a mortgage.
Anyway, you're talking about standard of living - which is often totally different to quality of life.
I am.I'm not sure about that but GB doesn't include Northern Ireland.
The UK of GB and NI.
