High Court Proceedings over Article 50

Brexit means we have control over immigration
Can you explain how leaving the EU means we have greater control over immigration?

EU say "you can't stop eligible people from coming in."

Not being in EU means UK decides who they want in, or not. No-one is "eligible" under someone else's terms.

If UK want to shut down the border completely, they can do so.

technically the commons could over rule the referendum ? and the Lords could also block it (The house of lords JohnD :);))
You wanted the sovereignty of UK parliament. You can hardly complain if Parliament decides.

If UK want to shut down the border completely, they can do so.
And commit financial suicide. We'd be the laughing stock of the world.
That's a different point altogether.
But not unrelated. In fact it's easy to make an argument that the two points are directly/causally related and intertwined.
Knock yourself out.
Do you not think that it's already been adequately covered and now the argument/subject has moved on?

Knock yourself out = do what you want.
Which roughly translates as "Do what you want."

Knock yourself out = go for it.
Which roughly translates as "Do your best or worst."

knock oneself out

  1. (idiomatic) To go ahead; to do as one pleases
  2. (idiomatic, in the imperative) to grant permission for or to give endorsement of a suggestion or proposal, especially when the speaker is not interested in its outcome.

The USA, Switzerland and Australia no longer allow immigration? Since when? Lols, the USA and Australia were founded upon it.

Most migrants to the UK do not come from the EU.

The country with the largest number of migrants to the UK is India.

So leaving the EU will have zero effect on most immigration.

This is not new information, everybody on this thread knows it. Now that the 2016 referendum is over, there is no point in the Quitters pretending otherwise.

Last time i looked the EU had a far higher population than India.

What some people seem to be or might be overlooking is long term EU immigration. Who knows what the economic situation will be 5-10-20 yrs from now. That's a major problem that exist within in UK politics. Everything is short term or backwards, reactionary, with little obvious anticipation or desire to take the bull by the horns and make things happen.

Now if we had someone of Farages calibre things might be different. Oh no, i forgot he's wacist. Sigh.
