My Prediction

JohnD called the last caper (election) correct

dunno if it was luck or good judgement ,but none the less he got it right

May will not lead the conservatives into another election & imho it is un-likely she will be ousted until after the Brexit talks ?

corbyn will not win any election out right so we are very much into the EU /European style of government from now on

coalitions & dirty deals over beer & sandwiches :) apparently in some elections in holland it has taken 6 months for various parties to cobble some thing together

Belgium there was one that took 18 months

The EU is full of cobbled together goverments coalitions & dirty deals

Just shows you how split the UK and the eu really is and the rest of the world for that matter. Its a war between the haves and the have nots.
The plebs will always root for the guy who promises them the heaven and the earth even if it can't be delivered.

and the rich tax-dodgers will always fill their newspapers with propaganda encouraging the masses to vote against their own interests.

How much tax dodging is actually a result of policies by left wing libertards like corbyn?
His latest call is too requisition peoples homes and give them to the home less people of the fire disaster.
Its no wonder the wealthy people are leaving in droves. Who would want to stay in the schitt hole that corbyn and his acolyte's want to create?

Is tax evasion not a criminal offence? Or are you referring to tax avoidance, which is perfectly legal and in line with the laws set by successive governments... Some of them Labour governments.

the influential tax dodgers are chummy with politicians, and can usually get things arranged to their own satisfaction.

If the billionaires weren't such tax-dodgers, tax rates could come down for everyone. Perhaps fire jones wouldn't like that.

"According to sources close to the review, the decision of HMRC’s Special Civil Investigation’s section was to launch a full-scale inquiry with a view to withdrawing Harmsworth’s non-dom status, if necessary through the courts. Late last year the plan was approved by HMRC’s solicitors and a high-level strategy board comprising the directors of the department’s Large Business Service, its Anti-Avoidance Group and its central policy unit.

But then the investigation was blocked by HMRC deputy chairman Dave Hartnett, who regularly steps into tax investigations and boasted to a parliamentary committee a year ago of his “board-to-board” engagement with big business.

When Austin Mitchell MP then asked Hartnett “Do [large companies] get a better deal when you get involved?” Hartnett responded “I sincerely hope not.” Viscount Rothermere appears to have got superior treatment, though, as Hartnett pressured HMRC officials to find a “technical” reason for not pursuing the investigation."

It's nice to think that we now have a chance to vote a politician with principles into power.

But is illegal?.. just think, the more money branson can make from the NHS, the more he can spend fighting brexit.

Hurrah for Right-Wing anti-public tax-dodgers! They've made this country what it is today!

and they still manage to persuade the masses to vote against their own interests!

The plebs

But is [it] illegal?..
No, it is not illegal.

The rules were made intentionally so that these people could do what they are doing.
Today, with modern communications, it is even easier for them to take advantage.

Until the Government changes those rules, it is no good moaning about Branson or anyone else.

A start could be made by abolishing British tax havens.
I suppose they would then move to foreign tax havens so - is their a solution?

Your beloved EU set the agenda.
They wanted a building that would meet their stringent CO2 emissions standards.
They were more worried about heat loss than fire safety.

silly roger pretends that the UK doesn't have Building Regulations.

It can't be solved by letting individual countries outbid each other to attract tax dodgers, as Ireland has been doing.

It needs countries to act together by binding treaties. Even the US knows it has a problem, though a solution seems unlikely in the next three and a half years.

The EU is capable of setting a level paying field

Silly Theresa, in her efforts to antagonise our biggest trading partner, threatened to make the UK a tax-haven to get one over on the 27. I suppose she wanted to damage our prospects by getting us on the EU list of non-cooperative tax jurisdictions.

You may remember how concerted action has been needed to make Switzerland, for example, less welcoming to world-class criminals and the money they have stolen.

"Anti-tax evasion measures approved by EU finance ministers

Ministers agree to propose joint list of tax havens and approve plan to automatically exchange data on shell company owners"

You might remember that the oily pig-boy was exposed as having received money hidden in Panama.

building regs are not the same through out the UK

Scotland have different regs

local authorities can differ as well with ref to certain products that are specced
