I see the government has decided to throw tory Kensington and Chelsea Council under the bus.

"Local Authorities are responsible for enforcement."

"In the case of apartment blocks, this duty falls on landlords and building owners. They have a duty to ensure that a risk assessment is carried out to identify hazards and risks, and remove and reduce these as far as possible"

"Enforcement of the Fire Safety Order falls to the Fire Safety Authority, using a risk based approach."

An attempt to avoid blame?

"Nothing to do with us" squeals Theresa

"But still, the Tories will struggle to get away from continued accusations that austerity and lack of regulation are partly to blame for the tragedy."

Yes, they will.

Perhaps some Lynch mob petition would be the order of the day  :?:

Send in a few politicians with no security to run the gauntlet  what about any one working at the council offices  draq them out & lynch em

and any one else associated with the incident .

any one wearing a pair of shoes , trousers , or a suit that was bought for more then £100 0r £200 lynch them

any one associated with the incident that owns there own house sling em out & lynch them as well

Guilty till proven innocent is the order of the day ;)
:LOL: Now that everyone is accustomed to arse end's lies and deceit and is not taken in by it, he resorts to melodrama. See if that works.

So if any of the flats have been purchased by individuals & then rented, are they responsible? Pretty sure they would have to supply smoke alarms, but how can you legislate against hoarders?

"Tories have blocked Labour legislation to make rented homes safer – but it’s complicated."

Odd how Channel 4 forgot to mention that they blocked it back in 2015, but the Tories then put virtually all of Labours suggestion in their own bill the following year.

Justice for Grenfell?

Define it, please.

- Those responsible being held to account? - A criminal investigation by the police? I think we have that
- A Public Inquiry independent from the constraints of an inquest to get to the bottom of all the lessons to learn? - I Think we have that.
- An emergency fund to help those affected - yep we have one of those too.

What else can you think is needed? right now.
They asked for hugs, you forgot that.

Well the way I see it we could circumnavigate all this enquiry caper save the tax payer great deal of money

on legal fees etc . and just lynch any one who had any association with the council ,or government depts. that can be linked to the disaster.

Corbyn should be put in charge of drawing up a list , and he can ask for the general publics in put

We could have a type of phone in were bye members of the public could vote on whom they think should be lynched

Any Lynching should be carried out in public and tickets could be put on sale in order to raise funds for a good cause

If any advise is needed on modern day lynching

A fact finding mission could be sent to Brazil , south Africa (necklacing) The gaza strip were the advice of Hammas could be sort ? may be even pakistan could offer advice

mind u may be a few people in Scotland could be of assistance ??? who knows

Oh come on Transam, don't give the burstards any ideas like that; they'll take them to heart and see if they can make them work.

poor old transam's dementia is taking hold more and more. He can't remember what he knows from one day to the next.

I hope he doesn't find out about Branson or Murdoch or the Barclay brothers. His brain will dribble out of his ear.

If you actually bother to read the C4 article - It points out the following :-

"... The research also points out that the health and safety regulations that Karen Buck wanted to introduce in her failed 2015 bill were included in the government’s Housing and Planning bill the following year.
In effect, the government has taken forward a lot of the substance of Labour’s proposed legislation, but avoided using the language of “fit for human habitation”.
So to some extent, Labour have succeeded in making sure the government improves regulation of privately rented homes..."
