...While you're at it, you might as well allow the government to control what you can do on the internet, what you can watch on TV. Perhaps you'll be so kind as to allow them to control what you buy for your weekly shopping too? Namby pamby state is where we're heading and sadly it's people like you who are / will allow it to happen.

There is a degree of control already.
If you want to call it a namby pamby state to prevent hate messages on the internet, hard-core porn on TV or alcohol for minors on your shopping list (not to mention tobacco, sugary drinks, etc) ..........
What kind of state would you, as a nurse, like it to be? Anarchic? Lawless?

Last time some young scrote asked me if I could buy him 20 Richmond at the local shop, I took his money and bought a pack of sausages. Gave him them and his change and told him they didn't do twenty in a pack, only a dozen.
