British have had enough

I guess it could, by those unable or unwilling to read that I said "I have yet to encounter...". Not prejudice, just a simple factual observation of my experience.

I've yet to encounter anybody who says that they are "genuinely concerned about immigration" who is not a racist/xenophobe.

Ive met plenty of people that are concerned about the level of immigration and are not racist / zenophobic.

Ive also met those that are.

I do think that an awful lot of people are now being labelled as zenophobic / zenophobic due to their lack of understanding about the immigration issue, although they are just normal good people at heart. This forum is a good example of that. Anybody here that makes any comment about immigration is always shot down as a bigotted zenophobe.

Immigration concerns led to the Brexit result.
Immigration has been used as a scapegoat for all UK problems

You have to laugh when a nutter like hawkeye claims to have the 'mood' and 'temperature' of the British people.
He will be claiming next that 'the British' do not pay their TV licence or parking fines, or have house insurance, or support Tommy Robinson, etc, etc.

@HawkEye244 you do not speak for me, or any of my (British) acquaintances.

You are seen as a nutter.
But claims to reflect the mood of the British people.

Neither do you speak for me, my country, or my people. Stop posting left wing garbage propaganda in general section, that would be a good start.

You find yourself on the side of the neo-marxists nonetheless

In other news, Theresa's plan to discourage foreigners seems to be working

History tell us that whenever there is economic/social strife, 'Johnny/Jane foreigner' always gets the blame.

But I think you'll find that the EU was used as a scapegoat for their ills also.
And funnily enough internal UK politics is responsible for the vast majority of the problems that people encounter day to day.

Anybody here that makes any comment about immigration is always shot down as a bigotted zenophobe.
You are convoluting two different issues.

Bigotted refers to out and out racists, but xenophobic refers to a fear of outsiders.
It is possible to be either, not both ;)

The leave campaign of course deliberately chose to muddy the waters, and whatever happens we will have a divided country for the forseeable future!

Neither do you speak for me, my country, or my people.
I do not make that claim, you do!
Even now you continue with your 'my country, my people'.
You are the minority of one:
No insurance, no TV licence, no job, does not pay parking charges (probably no car and cannot drive), hides behind curtains to flash at TV licence investigators, persistently masturbating on the sofa to TV porn, scabby face, no friends, Tommy Robinson supporter, no acquaintances except other EDL supporters.
And you have the audacity to claim to know the mood of the British people. You are having a laugh!

How do you reach that conclusion?

Why is it not possible to be both a bigot and a xenophobe?

Bigot actually means someone who doesn't like other beliefs or different opinions. You can be a religious bigot, a political bigot etc.

Xenophobic does indeed mean a fear or hatred of foreigners, 'outsiders'.

I am pretty sure a person can be both.

Oh damn! Damn! Damn!
I might have to agree with these two.
Xenophobia could indeed be a cause for bigotry. I think.
Just as bigotry is a learned response from peers, so xenophobia is a learned response from peers, leading to bigotry.
Except, of course, as sodthisforfun says, bigotry can be a more encompassing description for loads of other forms of prejudice, not just against foreigners.

Indeed it is, and as I said it's also possible to be either - or indeed neither...

However again you fail to get the point...

You said, "Anybody here that makes any comment about immigration is always shot down as a bigotted zenophobe"

Note the words you used - 'anybody', 'any', and 'always'.

You have definitively linked 'bigotted' and 'xenophobe' here, and made it perfectly clear that you believe this is the reaction to all who raise the immigration issue...
A totally sweeping (and erroneous) statement...

Unless of course you didn't realise what you were saying ;)
