Ok I'm driving along, a car in the opposite lane wants to turn in front of me to their right to my left.
There's cars queuing behind them I slow down flash them to turn .....everyone's happy.

I'm going to turn right, there's a car waiting at the same junction to exit to turn down my lane to their right......
I hold up my lane and if it's clear flash them to come out .....everyone's happy.

Other drivers don't extend to me the same courtesy ........plonkers !!!!!!

Car wants to exit a junction and go down my lane ....Flash them come on out ......

Stop and let pedestrians cross the road ........

Now the bad bits .....try and push in.......stick your nose out ....*******s no chance .........and come up the outside lane when it merges in to one and try and push in !!!!!!!!
Chav young driver at Halifax that tried that had to break....didn't like it when I forced him back ....behind me on his horn.......you lost mate....I'm courteous .......but no walk over to ****s !

When I first started to drive *cough cough* some years ago, nearly everyone was courteous.
Now I am pleasantly surprised when people are as it's rare.

i agree..
and what about those chaps joining the dual carriageway on which both lanes are in use
he is on the slip road coming in and wants you to let him in rather than braking till a clear space comes along and then accelerates into it matching speed with his fellow motorists..whatever that may be
i get side swipe entries a lot on my A30 dual carriageway and find it quite disconcerting to let someone in who has a different colour of paint from mine
lorries and trucks excluded...watch for them in advance

ps flashing lights is not a clear signal...and can be misconstrued with.." i am coming on"
i usually wave a signal either through the windscreen or the drivers window
pedestrians are a priority..most arent capable of olympic sprint performance to try to dodge the F1 wannabees...

:cautious::censored::confused:

An indicator is NOT a right to do what the fek you feel like....that needs to be stuffed into the heads of all learner drivers, as well as many who struck lucky and actually passed it.

Re: joining the carriageway......do half of the lackwits realise what the dashed line means?

Your spot on Gasbanni. I'm the same as you. if we where all courteous in the morning the cogs of industry would turn.

Those who cut in last minute & don't let people out reflects on their miserable lives. Obviously left wingers

Your probably right !!!!!

Left wingers are such social justice warriors ....until it affects them then they're just selfish cretins ........its funny that they've got such a high opinion of themselves and feel superior because in their warped thinking they've got the moral high ground.

That's what the outside lane is for.
"Merge in turn".
How far short of the cones do YOU think drivers should merge into the other lane?

What exactly do you think I'm saying ?

You have merging lanes ...people normally merge in advance so the majority have manovered in to positions .....then there's prats that shoot down the empty lane and try and force their way in. Sometimes not even indicating. ........The chap that tried to force his way in didn't like it when he got some of his own medicine.

No irony there.

So - how long before the lanes merge should drivers move over?

Or put another way - how much of the merging lane should be left empty to ensure you are not upset?

You weren't there I was. You didn't observe aggressive driving I did. The speed and manner of his driving needed to be moderated. I moderated it.

Don't be silly !!!!!!! when drivers indicate and everyone drives moderately there isn't a problem. When you've got a 25 year old driving like an idiot aggresively in a van thinking he can force his way in .........well he realised I wasn't giving way to his bullying and he didn't like it tough ........He needed to be taught manners.

This in now way equates to normal drivers merging......wake up for goodness sake.

It really depends where you live and how used to dealing with traffic they are.. In London everyone tends let people in and allow a bit of pushing in, purely because its the only way to keep things moving. In quieter towns and cities nobody lets you out, because they can't remember the last time they were let out.

a word of caution - forcing someone to brake no matter how much of a dick they are is inconsiderate -> dangerous driving and could get you points.

Just look at all the youtube dash cam and cyclist head cam warriors looking for trouble.
