Ha ha ha.

Your links dont say young people pay taxes.

Oh and the links dont mention brainwashing.

But apart from that, do pat yourself on the back old bean (y)

Perhaps it's only a coincidence 16-24 year olds are least economically active second to pensioners too.

Probably because they are mandated to be kept in some form of education until 18, and then embark on the most expensive university fees system in the world!

Keeps the unemployment figures down though ;)

Not really.

Ah so children have to be in education until they are 18.

They dont have to go to one of the many UKs world class universities.

Why didn't more Quitters turn up?

Being predominantly of retirement age and all?

Were they watching Countdown or something?

I'd have loved to have gone, but 1) it's in London (260 mile round trip) and 2) work gets in the way unfortunately...

I heard there was a country wide mensa test happening.
Some were too busy studying for their doctorate.

How do you know how many more quitters there were and of what age group if they didn't turn up? o_O

Not really.
Ah, so you are able of course to show which of those statements is incorrect?

Don't worry, I'll help you out...

"England

You can leave school on the last Friday in June if you’ll be 16 by the end of the summer holidays.

You must then do one of the following until you’re 18:

  • stay in full-time education, for example at a college
  • start an apprenticeship or traineeship
  • spend 20 hours or more a week working or volunteering, while in part-time education or training"

"University tuition fees in England are now the highest in the world, new analysis has found."

Still waiting. Neither of those links back up what you said:

The cost of university is often paid for by a loan. This doesn't make you economically inactive, not working makes you ecenomically inactive and going to university and working aren't mutually exclusive. You can do both.

Your first link says:

You can leave school on the last Friday in June if you’ll be 16 by the end of the summer holidays.

You must then do one of the following until you’re 18:

  • stay in full-time education, for example at a college

  • spend 20 hours or more a week working or volunteering, while in part-time education or training

This doesn't mean you can't work in any scenario and the last one (in bold) literally means you do both.

A child can work part time from the age of 13.

16-18 year olds who are considered to be actively part of some form of acedemia sits around 65%

So in other words:

Not really.

ou must then do one of the following until you’re 18:

Thats madness. Maybe it was done with good intentions.......not much good with no decent FE colleges or apprentiships.

I very much doubt universities in this country will be around in 10 years in the format they are in now .They are too expensive for one thing and the social sciences have been corrupted by Marxists and other left wing extremist nutjobs.
