Darwins theory of evolution is taught in schools ,is Darwins theory wrong?.
Darwin lived from 1809 to 1882.

Do you really think that it's an all-or-nothing deal regarding scientific knowledge, opinions, and theories from 150-odd years ago?

His theory of evolution via natural selection does not require him to have been right about every other thing he believed, nor does it require every other commonly held scientific belief of the time to have been correct.

And note, BTW, that his influential book was called "On the Origin of Species", not "On the Origin of Races".

So Darwin only has only to be right on the bits you agree with.
He based his belief on the superiority of the white races on natural selection.
The principles of natural selection apply to the human species the same as they apply to all other species.
Or maybe a different set of rules should apply when it comes to the human races because you don't like the results.

If you believe there is a hierarchy of races, do you think that you belong in one of the superior or inferior races?
And if the Germans had won the war, which 'race' would now be insisting that we speak German?

Yes, I am taking the proverbial, in case you hadn't realised. But I'd be interested in your answer.

Oh god, here we go again...

you do talk a lot of crap, vinty.
BAS believes that Darwin was right about some things but the bits about race BAS believes Darwin was wrong.
BAS obviously knows more than Darwin.

What year do you think science and learning stopped?

Do you acknowledge the existence of electric light? Horseless carriages? Wireless telegraphy? Moving pictures? The gramophone?

Do you think that smallpox may one day be defeated, or that heavier-than-air flying machines may be built?

It's not about people's personal set of ethics on what we agree with, it's about Darwin not being 100% correct on everything. The science, the knowledge, we've learned so much more since Darwin. We are always learning..

Probably fair to say, we all do.

I didn't say I believed in hierarchy of races or anything of the sort.
I am just curious why some people believe the things that they believe.
BAS believes that Darwin has only to be right about the things that BAS believes are right but when it comes to race Darwin can be wrong because BAS doesn't agree with Darwin's views on race.

As mentioned in previous posts, we've learned a lot in the time since Darwin walked the earth. It's a simple fact of Darwin wasn't right on everything.

That's cleared that up then.
You think Darwin was wrong on the bits that you disagree with.
Maybe a different set of rules don't need to apply to the human race because there is only one race.
Or maybe the rules do apply to the human race, which is why the human race is superior to all the other species. (another debate, not one that I wish to enter)
