Laphroaig

Finally had the opportunity of tasting a 10 year. Very peculiar taste I find but after about 20-30 minutes in the glass mellowed to a sweeter finish.

Are 10 years really worth bothering with? It's not bad but I'm not sure I could do a bottle.

This isn't my first 10 year btw it's my first Laphroaig 10.

I few years back while dating, I wanted to impress my then Girlfriend so I took her to a posh restaurant.
I asked for the most expensive Champagne to celebrate our first month together.

He brought me out a 1993 Dom Perignon but he only told me this while I was tasting it.
I spat it out and said "my god man Im paying good money,"
Get me some new stuff.

She drunk pints after that.

hopefully not pints of Dom Perignon......

White wine in a SodaStream was a good source of Shampagne, not that I would stoop that low...

I assume you have never tried that? If so, don't the results are .... interesting.

Did you add water?

Never really been one for it. I've found it takes too much away from the drink to speak for itself. Usually half an hour in the glass is enough.

That said I'd only have had tap water available, surely a spring water is the right option.

Best you don't try the Quarter Cask then...

That's for adults only ;)

Bit thick aren't you.
Aww bless...

SammyInnit didn't get it...Yet again!

But hey, since you delight in calling me 'LaL' how about I now refer to you in an appropriate manner.
(and given your repeated duff performances across the forum)

Thus hence force ye shall be known as 'Lol the Troll' (y)

Whiskey/whisky does not mature in the bottle. It'll still be a 10 year old whisky.
I'm just partaking of a 12 year old Highland Park.
