That is precisely what I'll be doing with the majority of my grant money - giving it back.
It's housebuilding on a large scale that I see grinding to a halt, building sites. With mass unemployment the market for new homes will dry up. There's probably never been a stronger need for the Govt to embark on large scale building of social housing, much like we did after the 2nd world unpleasantness.

My BIL has a senior position in the Salvation army -he says they already have some small scale projects that are social housing but use the big house building companies to construct. So I think you could be spot on.
this country has a huge crisis in housing -many of those suffering in work poverty are due to rent eating up their income.
The building industry funds the tory party, hence why the logical thing of allowing councils to build social housing for affordable rent has been and will be prevented.When the building industry takes a slump the rest of the country follows.. If we can keep it afloat then maybe there's hope.

the furlough scheme is flawed because prevented part time working so some businesses closed rather than had a few staff in to help to change things around to make it possible for their working environment to allow social distancing.
