I drive a nice car.
Is your car a high performance BMW, Audi, Mercedes or VW or similar? Does it have blacked out rear windows?
Typical. Give an example but won’t back it up when asked. Have you seen the trips he claims to do each week? A HUNDRED trips a year visiting friends and relatives from Greenock to East London. Astounding!

I used to get stopped driving my white van through the city of London, had blacked out back windows, every couple of months or so. I don't fit the profile.. Happened even more frequently after the tube bombings - the two weeks straight after, I was stopped 4 times if I recall and had to show the contents of the van. My partner was stopped a lot in his 20's, driving because he looked about 14 years old.. and my brother, with a skinhead, used to get stopped frequently walking around the streets for no reason at all other than having a skinhead and looking like a oik!

I never encountered anything but manners by the police.

You can't use the argument that you've never been stopped if the car you drive doesn't fit the profile of the people the police are trying to catch.

Must be a miserly fuel sipper doing 45,000 miles a year visiting East London. Do gang bangers drive fuel sippers?

As a "youth", but then afterwards no longer? i now reside in a village where the crime rate is low verging no-existent and my cars no longer draw attention, i still drive how i used to as a youth, i still like to have fun.

A "youth" is often stopped because of their driving style, but funnily enough as people get older white people don't tend to get stopped as much as black people... there is to many variables for this statement, one massive variable is location

And I'm still waiting to hear why it is acceptable for a person to be stopped for 'being out of their area'... you obviously have trouble reading

After all that was the excuse given...

I thought we were all living in a united kingdom...

Or does that only apply to those who are in possession of a certain skin colour? your making it about skin colour, as i said you dont see Indians, or Chinese complaining.....

if i lived in a high crime area, i would have absolutely no problem being stopped, i'd rather be stopped regularly to reduce the crime,

i've got nothing to hide and i dont have a social media that i crave attention from .................

Whats the answer then? Don't stop any black drivers cos they get upset?

You’d think an MP would back an anti knife/gang initiative and would proudly stand up and say "I've been stopped, happy to have been stopped and taken part in the initiative. It didn’t hurt, cost me a few minutes of my time and I thank the police for the good work they are doing".

Obviously not.

Would two white people in the same BMW get the same treatment?
I don't know.

Certainly Dawn Butler was muttering about racial profiling.

But the police are muppets. I got stopped once going to work, policeman asked where I worked, when I told he said: "why don't get a job nearer" WTF.

Police should stop who they like, as long as it's based on intelligence.

They shouldn't, however, use handcuffs etc until necessary. I think that was the problem with the olympic sports couple and it was the handcuffs, not the stop I think they were apologised for.

So you would like to be stopped regularly in order to prove you have 'nothing to hide'?

What does that say about your attitude to a so called 'free society'!

But then of course your chances of being stopped is far lower than a person with a black skin (if you are white), regardless of the persons committing the 'crime' you allege is taking place...

Or maybe you are suggesting that black people commit more crime than white people?

It's not just about being stopped, it's about how many times you are stopped, the pathetic reasons for being stopped, and the treatment/attitude, by the police, when they do stop you.

Of course you have. My sons mate lives in Hackney, or to use the term his mate and many other locals call it, Crackney. Says it all.
London if full of Cokeneys. White proffessional types that hoover Colombian down them like never before.
