Why do people take such umbrage over this? We know that the police have been racist in the past. We know that racism still exists in many ways in the UK. With the recent protests within the BAME community, this is going to be a heightened subject for a while and accusations thrown about.

Is this not understandable? Can we not understand the long history of racism and what that must be like for the BAME community and take that into account? Understand the view & appreciate that they may have plenty of negative experiences of 'casual' racism. Even if disagree with what the sportsmen & the MP say, which is ok if that's what people think, this whole issue is coming to a head in the UK, hopefully with a good outcome.
why drive around looking for trouble?.
Is it not as obvious to you as it is to me?
if police drive behind me with the intention of pulling me over , I pull over, why drive 150 yards then pull over?

I don't think people 'drive around looking for trouble', that makes no sense.

If you read my post you highlighted, you may find an answer to your second point. Or... just they didn't stop because they've been daft/didn't react quick enough. Plenty of daft people around, people make mistakes. Just hopefully we don't all get handcuffed for them!!

Yes I agree with this.

However the 2x cases pointed out in this thread are not examples of police racial profiling.

The driver was black- there are various shades of black.
Presumably he doesn't want the publicity but I am sure that if it was a white guy the police would say so

They admitted to purposely not stopping so that could get to their house in front of their neighbours, so it wasn't a mistake.

Maybe the cuffs was to much, maybe they wasn't but on the police defense if they don't stop when asked what are they hiding?

The rear window has some sort of tint, but the DRIVER IS WHITE.
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear! You've just ****ed on a few bonfires there. Typical, a white bloke can’t go anywhere without harassment from the police.

No, but as I said, we need to take into account what it's like to have lived most of your life with casual racism. Everything is heightened at the moment.. fingers crossed it will all settle with an outcome good for everyone.

It's a mistake not stopping when asked by the police, no matter the reason!

Same here. Just had to take my watch off to see what colour I am!
