Phew! A hot sweaty one for me with an argument thrown in as well. I’m replacing our old laminate in our hall and kitchen/diner with vinyl laminate click-lock. Moduleo Midland Oak LayRed. A bit more wood looking than the laminate. I’m going to board the whole lot first with 9mm ply but before I do that, I want to take the opportunity to run some Cat5e cabling for the TV's, Fire TV box and CCTV. I couldn’t have picked a hotter day to start - I must have lost a stone through sweating. Anyway, I’m not known for being a tidy worker and of course, Mrs Mottie came home halfway through, hence the 'harsh words' lol. I keep telling her that you can’t make an omelette without breaking eggs but I may as well be talking to the wall. Wimmin - they don’t understand concept of DIY, do they? What’s the problem?

Running conduit through a compressor house this morning, at least it will feel cool when I emerge
 
If I was still in engineering I would have been working inside whats known as a corrugator.
A machine that uses high pressure steam to form corrugations in huge rolls of paper to make corrugated cardboard. We used to work very close to steam pipes with temperatures in the region of 200C so had to don suitable protective kevlar gear such as gloves, arm sleeves etc. Could not spend more than 15-20 minutes before having to come out for 20 mins and drink at least 1 litre of water and there always had to be a banksman ready to react if anything happened.

Do I miss those times? Not on your nelly!
 
Been to the dentist. Paid £62.10 to be told I’ve got to have a couple of hundred quids worth of root canal treatment. :sick:

I sometimes worked with steam in hospitals and factories.Bloody scary stuff.
