Hi all

Need to gain 20 mm height on soil stack, the point where the soil pipe exits the building,I understand water doesn't run up hill only option I seen to have is relocate exit on gable end and bring around corner, completely out the way.I would also run the two external waste internal.Wondering am I missing a simple solution...added some photos

Thanks

I don't understand what you need to do, even with the pictures

I'm terrible at explaining sometimes.hope this helps.

Basically where soil pipe exits the house at the moment,is directly in middle of cavity wall.On top of the cavity wall I will be placing coping stones.

The big question really is would it be possible to bring soil pipe out on other wall and bring back, away from cavity running down side of the extension.

I will try to add more detail to photo..

Don't laugh

The red indicates new soil pipe position, on top I will install a air admittance valve, the pipe would come from side wall around external corner with a fall, only solution I have really..

Keep the pipes going through the wall where they currently do, lose the pair of offset bends and bring pipes across, through new wall, into soil Pipe which runs up the outside of the new wall? Build new wall around pipes.
Otherwise yeah as you say, move all pipes and drill new holes, potential pig of a job

Problem I have its directly above 300mm cavity..i think it's pig of a job option, bath out new core hole re-route and refit bath, good days work..

I was getting £30'000 plus quotes for extension etc...at the start thought sod it,I'll do myself,I work maintaing property's for local housing association so I have a idea just never a built a extension ...time consuming and finding the time.

Thanks for the help

Right, you are building a parapet wall.

What type of roof is going on the extension? Why does there need to be a parapet wall?

It may be possible to keep the toilet waste where it is and bring it out of the house within the line of the parapet, 90° bend, and then into a vertical stack in the corner where that lower part of the stack is now, without those offsets. It just depends on the roof, and roof level.

Yes parapet wall either side, warm roof construction the finish roof height would be 20mm above where the soil pipe exits the house. IV included a image for a idea, just stole from web..

Can't you box around the pipe with a timmer so that it is within the roof, insulate around and under it to maintain the insulation layer, and then form a slight step and board over the pipe to take the roof covering over the pipe?

Thanks for the suggestions guys, anything but taking the bath out and drilling wall. Over the next few days I'll do some scratching me head and pondering over some ideas, while Mrs is moaning asking me to get a move on..

Thanks again I will keep u updated if interested, must say this site is great..

so where the soil pipe enters the ground - could it be turned round the corner and run up straight ? is a manhole nearby ?

Hello Nige

No man hole near by mate, bottom of stack is where my gate is.I have uploaded another photo,it's not lined up correctly yet just temporary in place while I started the build..
