Talking of breaking the law...

I see we've been reminded of the USA's views on the GFA.
No GFA no US deal

getting rid of the WA means staying in the EU.
No it doesn’t. Article 50 has been done to death. Serve notice, then leave. Simples.

The WA serves no value to either party if there is no deal on the table. If we have no deal Bojo is right to protect U.K. interests.

I’m wondering if this edging out slowly was just a ruse to empty our pockets and maximise the chance of a reversal. We could have done this several years ago and be about 20bn better off.

The WA takes effect with or without a deal.
It replaced the backstop, which was to protect the non-existence of the RoI/NI border.
That is the purpose of the WA.
If there is a deal, the WA might not be needed, depending on the terms of the deal.
In the case of No deal, the WA agreement is absolutely needed to ensure the absence of the RoI/NI border.

Edit: To be more specific, it is the NI Protocol part of, or contained within, the WA that is required in the case of No Deal.

Under an arrangement known as the Northern Ireland protocol, goods will not need to be checked along the Irish border when the new UK-EU relationship begins, on 1 January. So how does it work?

The Northern Ireland protocol, negotiated by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson last October, is part of the withdrawal agreement (which some called the "divorce deal") that saw the UK leave the EU on 31 January 2020.

So what does happen if we back out of the WA? Other than being sued and having sanctions applied, what happens to the Irish border?

And the fine, and complete loss of trust.
I would imagine that the ECJ would instruct the UK to implement the NI Protocol as agreed. If the UK refused to do so, EU would be perfectly within their rights to implement a hard border. It would have demonstrated that they had no choice because it was the illegal actions of UK that instigated it.
The problem with that, of course, it provides an excuse and a target for any violence.

But the sanctions alone would be crippling.

Not quite what she said according to other sources. I don't think Bojo's plan is to undermine Peace.

"I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, we must ensure that nothing happens in Brexit discussions that imperils the Good Friday accord – including, but not limited to, the seamless border between the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland," she told the Irish Parliament.

"Let me be clear: if the Brexit deal undermines the Good Friday accords, there will be no chance of a U.S.-U.K. trade agreement," said Pelosi, D-Calif., who is in the country as part of a U.S. delegation.
I don't know what sources you're looking at but CNN and Fox are both in agreement, which probably means the world is ending shortly.

Indeed not quite the same thing as the earlier headline
Are you thinking that there's a get out in there that if there were no deal, and that lead to the GFA being broken, then Pelosis statement doesn't apply?

As I read it if the EU puts in a hard border because of Brexit then we still don't get a trade deal. Which could be a bit harsh but as Brexit is our choice, the repercussions good and bad all belong to us.
