What have you been doing today?

Lol. I had that attitude towards them once but get one and you’ll never go back! It was handy, amongst other things, to carry my lunch and a weapon in when I went to work by train but I haven’t done that since March. Mainly used when I go dog walking, which I did this morning. Mrs Mottie came with me this morning too and when we got back home, she opened the front door while I was getting the dogs out of the back and forgot the bloody thing was still on the back seat. Checked on the cctv and saw that it had locked itself, which it is not supposed to do with keys inside car but I think I’ll find that it’s in its faraday pouch and it probably opened and started on Mrs Motties key that was in her bag. It carries;

Poo bags
Dog treats
Phone
Dog leads
Car keys
House keys
Monocular
Fold-up specs
Dog ball
Bluetooth EarPods
Tissues
Wet wipes
Paracetamol
Sunglasses
Empty thermos cup
And if there’s a threat of rain, my fold-up Berghaus waterproof jacket.

So there! :p

Biting open a chocolate bar that is wrapped in silver lined paper, such as a Crunchie, and feeling an electric shock through your teeth!

Today with thanks to the local cat's protection volunteer's help, managed to track down the owner of the cat who's been visiting.
All I got was the ramblings of a mad woman, shouting down at the phone at me for over 4 mins. I gave up and hung up. Gave the number to cat's protection who then called her, to tell her about free neutering and the benefits of being chipped/neutered. She blank refuses to and the cat's protection lady came back to me via text and it just said 'got in touch - what a nasty nasty woman' to me, obviously copped an earful too.

Some people shouldn't have pets :(

Only if you have amalgam filings.

This was in my childhood when I never had fillings. Still haunts me to this day and I can't eat Crunchies.

Got home from work, before the wife would put tea on I had to remove a door frame so we can make it bigger.
Done that, dusty stones sticking out - this weekend I raise a lintel so a std door will fit.

We had a problem for a number of years with an un neutered ginger tom. It didn't harm either of our two cats (female neutered) but it has cost our neighbours over a grand in vets bills after attacking their neutered tom.
Our neighbours tracked the owners and politely suggested that they could have it neutered free of charge and how it would benefit the cat, this wasn't received well.

Because we have a cat flap, part of this cats daily routine was to sneak in and steal food, he'd leg it pretty quick when I appeared.

His condition would vary, sometimes he looked reasonably well, other times he was limping and had lost a lot of weight.

Some months back his condition had deteriorated badly and we discovered that his owners had moved away and simply left him behind, my wife arranged with her friend who runs a local cat rescue to set up a trap, in the meantime, the poor ******* was sneaking in for food and instead of chasing him out, I'd let him wolf as much down as he could before he sneaked back out again.

Weirdly, during this period, the owners contacted the cat rescue and accused them of trying to steal their family pet.

Mrs fillyboy eventually caught him in in the trap and he was delivered to a foster home pending neutering at the vets, she gave up trying to get him into a cage to get him to the vets because he really did become extremely violent, after 4 weeks he eventually got to the vets and was 'done'.

He was down to go to a farm as a 'working cat', catching rats, mice, being fed and sleeping in an outbuilding but the rescue place has given him an extension on the basis that he might make a good companion as a house cat for an elderly person, my wife saw him a week ago and said you wouldn't recognise him, he's filled out and is really quite handsome, still a little distrustful of 'humans', but eager to socialise with other cats gradually becoming more people friendly.

I'd like to visit him before he moves on, partly out of curiosity to see how he looks, and partly to say to him, well done mate, I'm glad you've eventually found a better life.

You're right though, some people shouldn't have pets.

Am so pleased you guys didn't give up on him - and that he had a happy ending. You really should go see him, see what you had a part in doing! :) It's irresponsible and cruddy not to neuter cats - I think too, like dogs, they need to be chipped by law. It's one thing not knowing how important it is, but when it's spelled out to people then those who don't are utter tosspots.

I've spoken further to the cat's protection lady, she said the woman was aggressive towards her, had also admitted she had quite a few other cats, all 'in tact', she also admitted that she knew about the abscess I saw, when it came to my home for the first time in June, but decided it didn't need help. It was the size of a tangerine, right on his cheek. Must've been so painful.. He was fairly tatty back then, I tried to grab him but he didn't trust me. What I am amazed at is that this cat is uber friendly towards us now within a few visits, headbutts, purrs etc. Not as keen on me as he is my better half but now, thinking of its owner being a woman, maybe that's understandable.
