Cool with me although many Indian families i know don't feel the same, alot of their history is within their own families, and feel british history wasn't a factor of importance hundreds of years back. Who cares either way lets include all of it. Id like to include all of our white history in the black history books and then merge all of them to make one big history... oh wait is that ok?

But do you as a white person feel awkward discussing what you don't agree with?

Nope. Been grafting all morning filling holes and screwing. Eldest is back from Worcester (uni) so have had a busy social weekend entertaining as well as grafting on my own gaffe.

You tell me Jonny..Which are you? Another like Benny Boy who obsesses over conspiracies.Economics aside,ICE fumes kill and contribute to illness of millions of people per year.

ICE fumes kill so much that us in industrial and polluted nations have a life expectancy over 80 years, while our African brothers living where there is no pollution die very young, many in their childhood.
I bet they would prefer breathing our fumes rather than work in lithium and cobalt mines as slaves.

I'd want to be white. Have you ever tried to get a decent job when you are not white? Any interviewers first task, before meeting any applicant is to sift through the surnames.

When I was working for a large national chain, I frequently applied for promotion, some times to newly opened facilities. So many times less qualified and less experienced people were promoted, sometimes from outside the organisation. Eventually, after multiple occasions of such instances, I approached the MD verbally ( I didn't want to make a formal approach) to express my frustration. He assured me that 'my time will come'.
The next job that became available was a 'down-market' job in an inner city. It wasn't 'the job' that I wanted, but I felt I had to apply as I had applied for so many others.
So I was finally promoted to a 'less desirable' position. Was it because so many others hadn't applied? Or because I was considered the best fit for that job? Or because my informal discussion with the MD was acted upon?
Was that discrimination? Or just an unfortunate set of circumstances?

Just to end this tale, I made such a success of that first promotion, subsequent promotions came quickly and easily. I even suspected that I had the specific support of the MD, and the less supportive members of management were hard pressed to 'keep me in my place'.

Im not really understanding your post. But if the above is your experience I do understand and could not argue that its not racism. I hate to think this day and age people with power judge people on colour. I understand judging people on their appearance and how they conduct themselves but not colour.
