Derbyshire Police Being Over Zealous. Again.

This is nothing to do with funding gaps or revenue raising. Just idiots trying to hit quota. A Fixed penalty notice or 2 helps achieve quota.

Couple of bimbos.

Driving five miles for a walk, when they could have just opened their front door and walked outside, is definitely not within the guide.

.

I'll bite

Oh yes it is

Fyi the two women did nothing wrong , what they did was within the law even the police admitted as such in that report , I just hope the fines got cancelled

By a strange quirk of fate, this afternoon I drove over 30 miles to Launceston Castle for an eye test.
My wife had an eye op last year for glaucoma and had to have a special eye test for DVLC, not all spec savers are equipped for this so they booked her into Launceston.
It was only when driving home I thought about the parallels with Dom.

I have to drive 25 miles to work, is that allowed?

I bet some people on here think it's not .....

That is exactly right, like much of UK law, it has been left open to some interpretation, in the expectation that some common sense will be used by the individual in interpreting the intention. If your MOT expires there is no set distance you are allowed to drive to have your car MOT'ed, if it fails, then you are allowed to then drive it to a place where it can be satisfactorily repaired - assuming it has no immediately dangerous faults. You would need to be able explain if stopped by the police, why you were driving so far to get these things done, but providing you had some reasonable excuse ready, there would be nothing they could do to prevent you.
Whilst it is true there's no laws regarding set distance for an MOT they can nick you for driving an unroadworthy vehicle.

And what about their data on the Police systems? Will that be deleted as well?
