Lack of Intelligence of Government Advisors

Interesting to note which part of my last post you chose not to reply to - the JohnD tactic?

Repost what? 'It' could apply to anything of non-specific gender.
Repost the bit that you think I didn't respond to. I did quote your post, so it should have been obvious to what I was referring.

It was I who mentioned the JohnD tactic.
Yes, when I first read it, it was:
"Interesting to note which part of my last post you chose not to reply to the JohnD tactic?".
You realise the hyphen changes the meaning considerably.
By the time I'd finished typing my response and before posting it, I'd noticed that you had changed/corrected your typo.

It was I who mentioned the JohnD tactic.

A good while ago, Bobby posted this ......."Mottie doesn't care".

This is a phrase used many times by JohnD, never by Bobby, when I pointed it out, Bobby's post disappeared, along with my reply to it.

Take your own inferences from that.

I'm sure Bobby/JohnD will be along to dispute all that I have said.

Your fetid imagination is working overtime.

Perhaps Eflimpudence can confirm that that is the tactic that he referred to as 'the JonD tactic'.

Yes, the hyphen does change the meaning so don't omit it.

I must have missed the reference to rabbits. Could you please repost where rabbits were mentioned.

Are you denying that you posted "Mottie doesn't care", if you do, you are lying.
If you can find it, I'll be obliged to admit to it. But off-hand I don't recall posting a comment like that.
Have you tried the search facility?

I was pretty sure you had omitted it the first time I read your response.

I will, when you repost the bit that you think I didn't respond to.
In the meantime. I suspect you can google what chasing rabbits refers to.
I can never google which bit of your comment you think I didn't respond to.

Did you know that there was no increase in covid infections after the busy beach days in the UK last year?

sitting on a windy beach is never going to be as bad as stick 10 million kids in confined classrooms for 6 hours a day. Yes, there is risk, but in the grand scheme of things, it was a small problem. Just like students partying, or football fans celebrating, it makes good news headlines and photos. The biggest problem is PEOPLE just meeting other PEOPLE every day and spreading it, not even knowing they had it.

It'll be interesting to see what the stats look like 4-6 weeks after schools return.

But advisors are not stupid. It is all about balance. It is impossible to please everybody, so it is a balance of saving lives, keeping kids educated, and keeping the economy alive.

Governments probably had to work through similar problems, with similar public complaint, during the wars and past epidemics, it's just we weren't around then, or were just kids, and there was no social media either, so moaning was not recorded.

I can imagine conversations outside pubs during the Blitz ... "it's an outrage, I work all day and then can't get a pint! the near bomb fell over 5 miles away, why can't my pub open!!!"
