What have you been doing today?

My blind neighbour / marra (66) became a type one diabetic at 2 years of age.....this had the effect of ruining his eyesight almost completely (I reckon he has maximum 5% sight in one eye and nothing in the other) and it's also compromised his kidneys and feet.
He never moans about it, and says that's just the way it is.....which is true, I guess.
He has an insulin shunt pump strapped to his chest which administers base rate insulin, and more on demand - depending on his blood sugar count. He has to check his blood every 2 hours, including through the night.
Mind you, if he goes off into a diabetic hypo, his sight is a minor issue compared with the results of that
I carry two syringes with me when we are out - one is glucose, one is insulin so I have to quickly decide which one to stick him with if he goes down. A case of 'Do you feel lucky, punk?'
John :)

I thought I’d re-seal the end of our bath today. 10 minute job. Started around 2.00, just stopped for the night, another couple of hours should see it finished tomorrow!:cautious::rolleyes:
Well, I had a break yesterday and I’ve just finished it. I’ve no patience whatsoever and I’ve made a complete **** up of it. All I can say is that it is watertight but looks bloody awful, Mrs Mottie will probably have the hump when she sees it but I’m past caring. I’m going to have some tiling done in my kitchen - just arguing with Mrs Mottie at the moment - I say I can do it, she says get a tiler in. Anyway, when that’s done, I’m going to get a mastic man in to go all over the kitchen and bathroom.

Jeez...sounds exactly like me and my Mrs!

Did the weekly shop early this morning. After that I removed and did a fresh install of the programmes on my lounge firestick - kodi, UK Turks, Numb3r5, Exodus, The Crew, Rising Tides, NordVPN and Real-Debrid. Did a batch cook of Bolognese and froze it (4 double portions for Mrs Mottie and me and a couple of single portions for the MIL) and then Mrs Mottie gave me a haircut. Must be about the 9th or 10th one since lockdown 1. Watched episode 5 of series 4 of Fargo.

Had to pop up to my workshop to check the CCTV as I had a call from plod last night at 11.00 asking if I could check it between 6.00 and 7.00. as there was an 'incident' outside my workshop and they were hoping it had been recorded. Nothing on it but while I was there I thought I’d just simply replace the offside front sidelight bulb on our Golf as it was throwing up a warning light on the dash. Had to remove the fuel filter to get my fat hand in there. Replaced the bulb and......nothing. I tested for a feed to the bulb, again, nothing. Checked the fuses, unpicked the loom in several places to probe the wire and still nothing. I was about to give up, I’d lost interest and then it hit me. Switched the lights off, then back on again and all sorted. Bloody canbus!
