If it cuts down the size eg MBs then it means the original is more detailed and crisp

I've been learning how to use a chainsaw. 
Decided to trim down the thorn hedges along one side of the driveway from about 15' high to 6' Had been using my loppers, secateurs and hedge trimmer till my wife asked if a chainsaw would be better. Probably, I said. Right, lets go she says. So off we toddle and come home with a 16" Oregano from B&Q Nice bit of kit for £109 and got them to throw in a bottle of chain oil for free. Spent the first 2 hours setting it up and having a few practices on a log I had at the side of the shed. Went through it like butter. Already got the tough trousers and she has bought me chain mail gloves, visor and bump cap for when I took up learning the lathe. Now got 2/3 of the hedge down and the final third will come down next weekend. Then I need to go into the meadow next to us and get the back section from that side.

One of the few tools I've never used, and suspect I never will. Be careful.

Same here, heard of quite a few accidents with these beasts
I never thought I would either. But read the booklet, watched a few videos and decided to try it out on a few logs first. I have a healthy respect for any tools, especially power tools, and it gave me the confidence to try it on the hedges. Once the hedges are done it will probably only be used for cutting up small logs to use in my lathe.
Just had to rebook our March break at a foodie type hotel in Hampshire for August. Should have cost more but they said they'd honour the March price.
Fingers crossed we're not in lockdown number whatever in August!

Spent the morning lying on my belly looking into a chamber full of poo, wiring in a new pump, fired it up and discovered a leaking flange, it just gets better this job

One of the worst jobs I regularly went to to was a 40qt mixer gearbox used to make dogfood out of cow guts....Up to my elbows in grease and cow juices...The frekin smell was orrible...Not a mask or glove ever worn...oh to be young and daft again.Next job was usually a bakers .....to get all my tools covered in grease AND flour!..

When being faced with these type of jobs did you manage to build up some type of resistance so that you eventually became immune and became able to tolerate the more smelly jobs?
