I’ve just had a phone call - I think I’ve been ‘ead hunted! A training operation are looking for someone to do their quality control work. I've got the qualification that’s needed to do it but I haven’t really done it properly for 10 years or more. City & Guilds have put my name up. They want to meet sometime next week. Might be too much for me but I’ll go along just to see what it’s all about - you never know!

Got bored sitting down after dinner so decided to put a new battery in my AVI-8 Lancaster watch. As it has a threaded back plate I have a special tool to undo it.
Could I find the tool? Should have been in the drawer with the batteries but couldn't find it. Found the little clamping device to hold it steady but no turner.
Emptied and sorted two more drawers from the lounge dresser. Still no sign.
Emptied and tidied 2 big canvas boxes for small gardening things and indoor emergency tools. No sign.
My wife suggested wrapping some Sellotape around my finger to see if it would give a bit of grip. Gets the dispenser out. No tape.
Look for a spare roll and find it. In the battery drawer. As I lifted the roll out what did I find? My special tool laying inside the roll of Sellotape.
Oh well, at least 6 drawers got tidied out and years old junk thrown away. Now sitting down with a very large bar of Galaxy and a bottle of Spitfire.

Just been to Sainsbury’s to do the weekly shop. Pleased to see at least 95% of people are still wearing masks. On the way out of the car park, I saw Little and Large being taken for their morning walk by their owners. An odd pairing of dogs in one household.

Just got back after dropping the dog off at the groomers. On the way back, I had some idiot in a Merc convertible up my exhaust pipe trying to make me go faster down a fairly wide side street. I was in our Golf. I slowed down from 30 and I was getting some pleasure watching him in my mirror getting all angry and looking to overtake. As I went past a black Golf parked in the road it pulled out straight into the side of my car! My car didn’t half wobble - it was a sickening crunch. I stopped and got out and couldn’t see anything - I was expecting to see the nearside of the car to look like it'd been opened up with a can opener! The driver of the car, a young Asian girl came up to me telling me she was sorry and she was amazed there was no damage either. Her mum, Nan and sisters came out of the house too - she said she was pulling out to reverse into her drive. I went back and looked at her car and saw she had damage to her drivers side front bumper. I looked at mine again and all I could see at that level was black paint from her bumper on my nearside rear alloy. They are not the tidiest of alloys anyway so her and her family were quite relieved when I said don’t worry about it.

A better experience than my Mum, who was driving down a road when someone shot out of their driveway hitting my Mum. Every panel was damaged. When the insurance got in touch, the Asian lady driver denied everything and suggested my Mum was targeting her by blaming her for the accident. It was only when I suggested testing the paint residues and height of the damage against the woman's car that she caved in and admitted liability.
R sole....

Edited because I can't be bothered explaining myself and don't feel I need to.

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Maybe start a Crazy Asian driver thread.

I was talking to my Indian neighbour the other day..... he's going through his driving test.... I was telling him that I think Indian drivers in India are the best in the world...... it's Chaos on their roads yet no one gets irate and not so many crashes....

To both of you, what has her ethnicity to do with it?
None whatsoever. Neither did the fact that I had been taking my dog to a groomer, the fact that I was in my Golf, the fact that a Merc convertible was up my exhaust pipe or that it was being driven by an idiot, or the car that hit me was also a Golf. Or that it was black. Or that it was being driven by a woman. Or that her mum, nan and sisters came out of the house. Or that I was in a wide side road. Unnecessary clutter, sorry to have wasted your time. I’ll re-write it just for you:

Driving car, another car hit me.

There you go. (y)
