Immigrants welcome in Poland, illegal immigrants no chance ......

I think your view of Soviet Bloc countries is slightly rose-tinted, for example asserting there are no unsafe areas due to no ghettos. We'll probably have to agree to disagree on that one.

I'm speaking as someone who has spent a lot of time in certain former Soviet Bloc countries. I have residence in one of them.

When I've been in US cities I have been advised which neighbourhoods are safe and which 'hoods aren't. Never had or needed such warnings in cities in eastern/central Europe. Maybe there are unsafe areas there, but I've never come across them.

As for the number of Muslims, maybe not so many, but far right racists still attack them, even though there appears to be no terrorist threat from that sector. As the Jews experienced, the biggest threat is from the native population.

France has a high immigrant population. France has journalists slaughtered in their offices, women and children squashed in the street by HGVs and priests butchered at the altar as well as countless lower level terrorist incidents. Poland has very low immigrant population and doesn't suffer these atrocities.

It is beyond stupid to keep allowing large scale immigration from groups who are shown to be prolific terrorists. Someone must have their head in the sand not to see the connection. Ignore it, maybe it will get better.

Yes, countries with more immigrants do have more crime committed by immigrants. That is pretty obvious.

But countries with fewer immigrants do not have less crime.

Criminals are everywhere. But some people are happy to ignore rape, murder, kidnapping etc when it is carried out by "their own people".

Ignore it, maybe it will get better.

The underlying rhetoric is 'If all the immigrants living in country x moved away, much of that country's problems would disappear.' I expect even some of the indigenous people in places like Australia think that, after all, it was their country first, right?

It's a naïve viewpoint at best. All that would happen, when the masses realised utopia hadn't materialised, is another group would then be singled out as 'the problem' to be dealt with.

It's the unemployed, they're to blame, let's get rid of them!
(still not utopia)
It's all the gays, they're to blame, let's get rid of them!
(still not utopia)
It's the non educated, they're to blame, let's get rid of them!
(still not utopia)
It's the elderly, they're to blame, let's get rid of them!

etc etc ...

They're evidently great countries to thrive in, hence why so many of their residents wanted to leave for places like the UK over recent decades.

And I'm sure all the compliant, oops sorry, thankful citizens of some of these countries are thankful their leaders instigate law changes so they'll remain in power for years/decades to come. And of course they're also thankful there are no rigged elections, massive corruption etc. And not to forget they're also thankful that any dissent to the governments rhetoric can lead to being severely beaten or worse.

Yep, they're model societies right enough ...

A friend's wife is from Kazakhstan (who mostly consider themselves Russian). I asked what her family thought about Putin - they all love him, they see him like a hero. The propaganda runs very deep, and people just ignore the problems that happen in these places - they are rarely reported.

As for Poland and other countries with varying levels of immigration and crime, various studies have shown that immigration is not the cause of increased crime. It is almost always down to social-economic issues, and naturally, when it does occur, it is happening as a result of immigrants being left destitute and some turn to crime.

Human nature is always to blame the outsider, rather than the neighbour.

Agreed. For example, including within this thread, the horrible crime of sexual abuse against children has been mentioned in correlation with immigration.

When we consider the recent child sex scandals here in the UK, many conducted by Asian men, would anyone in their right mind condone any of that? Of course not. Were the authorities wrong not to act? Of course they were. Was their lack of action partly down to the race of those accused? Yes.

No one thinks any of that is right.

However, the fact remains, most cases of child abuse are carried out either by a family member or a closely trusted friend of the family. Not a stranger. Fact.

So using this example (in different ways the same can be argued around unemployment, housing etc) if people think the UK would become a child abuse free zone if all the immigrants were removed, they're at best very misinformed.

That's what people tend to say if their country is led by a dictator. I mean, look how much Kim Jong-un is loved by his people, he has literally 1000's of people cheering and applauding him wherever he goes. All completely naturally and from their hearts ...

Yep, we discussed this before. Most child rape and abuse is in the UK is carried out by white men. An inconvenient truth.

But still disregarded by the average racist.
Any excuse will do to justify their racism, even untrue excuses.

As for this sick woman and the so called man described as his step dad. Nasty horrible people

We have a duty to help asylum seekers.
Some may be asylum seekers when they are grateful for sanctuary in a European country. The ones who pass through several EU countries cherry-picking the country they like the look of most are economic migrants (the vast majority). Genuine asylum seekers do not have the funds to shop around and pay large sums to traffikers. Genuine asylum seekers/refugees consist of males and females, old and young. It's very telling when they are predominently young, healthy males, often in smart clothing and carrying smart phones.

And the hard pressed British taxpayer does not have an obligation to fund endless streams of asylum seekers, economic migrants, whatever. If there is war in their country, they need to return and fight. If there really are problems in their country, they need to sort it out. Landing in a strange country with a sob story and your hand out is pathetic. Would they do the same for us?
