Given her political links/engagement, I wonder if there was any truth in the "training Journos". At the end of the day, they picked her up for something and then used it as leverage.

I don't think it matters much really. It seems one person is still there. Can't remember what he was at there but it didn't seem to relate that much to politics.
Boris mentioning it just adds a smoking gun for some to make use of. He made another silly comment about Ukraine and weapons sent - increase Russia's costs. Another recently "medium range" also calibration. Seems these various bits can be adjusted in terms of range. The bloke lacks a political filter.

Her anger should be directed at the Iranians who imprisoned her, but i can understand her frustration that it might seem like the UK government dragged its feet paying out the £400m Iran claimed it was owed, which we did end up paying in the end.
However, the flip side to that is that the UK can't be seen to be paying ransoms, or rogue operators across the board would see it as open season on UK citizens.

You don't criticise the Iranian government if you want to remain relatively free and untortured.
A British friend of ours married an Iranian. Split up and he went back to Iran. Might be because she is one of the people who gained AIDS from blood transfusions. He visits from time to time to see the children. Also probably Australia as one moved there who also visits here at times. Looks like Iranians have been able to move around for some time now.
What is totally different there is the politics. We hear about some aspects from time to time.Women now - pass,. Head scarfs seem to figure. They do in Turkey as well. Women can drive but I believe only with a woman driver if on their own. Reports on education vary.

I've always wondered where Boris's comment about training journalists came from. It's not the sort of thing you just make up out of nowhere. More likely an adviser told him that's what she was doing and he blurted it out thinking it was an innocent comment.
