Credit To K Starmer For Going Live On Air & Stating He'd "Resign If Found Breaching...."

Starmer is a lawyer isn't he? Can you honestly see him accepting a fine and resigning without challenging it? He's basically threatening them to find him not guilty to avoid the ensuing legal challenge.

Yep. Safe in the knowledge that about 99% of all covid enforcement that has gone to court failed to convict.

The legislation was entirely designed for on the spot fines. Not historic enforcement and anything over 6 months for these types of offence would likely be an abuse of process.

So going by that logic...

What was borisconi doing when claiming no party(s) took place and he didn't break any rules, if not to threaten them?

Starmer would resign without challenging it

If he challenged it, Starmer would be framed as a bad loser and a hypocrite.

Whatever the outcome, it’s a major lose lose for Johnson.

Starmer has outflanked Tories totally.

It’s hilarious that a Labour leader resigning would be damaging to Conservative party.

Talking bullsh't. A bit like some of your claims - leaving the country, making a final post before closing your account on here, housing a Ukrainian family, yada yada yada......

Ah well, we'll be expecting a Labour landslide at the next GE, won't we? <titter>

It won't be damaging to the Tories. Win or lose, Starmer is damaged goods. If he loses, he has no choice but to resign, he's already said he will. If he wins, there'll be a further drip feed of the the half truths and lies that came out of his office.
And the beauty is Boris will stay put. Maybe putting his hand up, accepting the punishment and getting on with the job wasn't such a daft move after all.

WRONG

if Starmer wins, the Labour party will be the ones with the moral high ground

and would make Johnson weaker

if Starmer loses, the Labour party will be the ones with the moral high ground

and it will make Johnson not resigning intolerable

oh and if Labour get a new leader, maybe Wes Streeting -he is a fighter and would love to take on Johnson, a new leader could give Labour a nice big bounce

Streeting comes from a poor background and will be likely to be supported by the former red wall

Which is pretty much what Cressida Dick said when she said the Met don't normally investigate 'historic' transgressions, that policy obviously changed, Dick was criticized for the 'delay' in investigating Boris, all shortly before being forced to resign by Sadiq Khan

And then I woke up, wow, that was a strange dream.
