Is it legal to have an elective abortion at 20 weeks in France or UK?

Go on....? Considering that abortions after 20 weeks is extremely rare, it is merely a semantic figure.

And you think that is more flexible? I'd say enshrining the right of women to have an abortion into law, is pretty rock solid. At least no moron RWR Conservatives are going to curtail the rights of French women, any time soon.

Some or all may well be down to genetic tests which can be carried out between 15 and 20 weeks.

I’m not anti abortion. But I don’t kid myself that it is not at some point a destruction of a living thing.

I don’t support a change in the law because 90% occur at 10 weeks and I think this is still very early.

I am not stupid enough to think that a 20 week + abortion does not involve some suffering and trauma.
Please read what I wrote more carefully and pay attention to the post stream which provides key context to my posts.

And please avoid strawman logical fallacy

1) I never said it was not at some point a living thing, I said it wasn’t a baby and evidence shows it’s not conscious

2) I never said a 20week+ termination does not involve suffering and trauma. Although the scientific knowledge indicates: “connections from the periphery to the cortex are not intact before 24 weeks of gestation and, as most neuroscientists believe that the cortex is necessary for pain perception, it can be concluded that the fetus cannot experience pain.”

It is the reason for the U.K. 24 week limit.

I can’t say there is no trauma or suffering.

In the abortion debate it is important to focus on scientific knowledge, evidence, data. The pro life supporters always want to reduce the argument to emotive slogans, misinformation and endless logical fallacies - the pro life comments on this this thread are evidence of that

nonsense do some research. 24 weeks on is the generally accepted time.
No idea what the point of you making this comment.

24 weeks has FA to do with:

1) it’s not a baby
2) it’s not conscious

Those 2 points are factually correct

Please avoid strawman comments in a weak attempt at point scoring

What do you think the abortion act does. Do you think it enshrines the right of a woman to have an abortion?

If you don’t. I’m sure I can help explain how laws work

A publication aimed at or intended for women. It reaches a far wider audience than Conservative Sailors monthly, lol

You really do despise them don't you. Your hatred of women is not natural. Go see a shrink.(y)
I’m curious as to why you think the NHS guide on abortion or the abortion act, is some sort of conservative sailors monthly.

What is important is for people not to over simplify the argument. Though it’s quite clear that some of the posts on this thread lead me to question if they even know how babies are made.

I'm certain that the researchers at a popular women's magazine have done their homework, can spell and have a decent grasp of the truth.
Especially that over a wannabe lawyer, woman hating gammon.
It's Mothers Day, so why don't you lock yourself away in your dinghy Pugwash, and knock one out to your favourite picture of Thatcher. (y)

I think you p*** and bile outburst suggests you have absolutely no clue.

We have a law granting women the right to abortion under 24 weeks in france it’s 14 weeks.

Should we adopt the French law? You seem to think it’s better.
