We've been modifying nature by pumping out greenhouse gases for hundreds of years. Now we are only trying to help sort the problems we have caused.

It would be interesting to draw a graph with human evolution on one axis and the extent (in distance) of the intervention of nature modification on the other.
Since the mid 20 century it will extend beyond the earth's atmosphere.
