This doesn't have to be an argument you know? Not everything does

Sorry, I don’t see your reasoning.Well the local councils will assess your finances so maybe they wont like not being able to do that.

Well it makes sense to me, if I can end my life before I need care (assuming im able to and have still got capacity) my family get my moneySorry, I don’t see your reasoning.

That’s what they did to my mum.I've seen 2 members of my family put effectively, on the 'Liverpool Pathway' - i.e staved to death; it's no longer call that . Now if that isn't cruel and heartless I don't know what is? It is horrible to see people asking for food (and to an extent, drink) whilst the family wait around watching while they slowly die
What has that got to do with the local council 'assessing your finances'? How does the local council end up with the money?Well it makes sense to me, if I can end my life before I need care (assuming im able to and have still got capacity) my family get my money

How dare you suggest that of me you don't know me.It's almost like you are suggesting that old people should kill themselves so that their offspring (whether they are despised by the parent or not) get their parents' money, rather than spend it elsewhere?
ExactlyIt is more likely to end up paying private companies to provide care, either in a residential setting or carers in your own home. Either way, some people would prefer to die beforehand and leave that money to their kids.

Could that be unnecessary pressure. "I'm not too keen on dying, but I'll do it for the kids"?It is more likely to end up paying private companies to provide care, either in a residential setting or carers in your own home. Or I don't fancy going into a home, people feeding me and taking me to the toilet, I'll go now thanks, as I have no quality of life?Could that be unnecessary pressure. "I'm not too keen on dying, but I'll do it for the kids"?

Could be, yes.Or I don't fancy going into a home, people feeding me and taking me to the toilet, I'll go now thanks, as I have no quality of life?
I do see that it's an awkward situationCould be, yes.

Like I said, I have thought about a lot, but haven't come down one way or the other. I'm really unsure what's best.I do see that it's an awkward situation
