Climate Change

Not sure if the environmental part has always been there

Then there is also the green levy on domestic fuel

The green tax is applied to dual bills for electricity and gas, which are common in the UK. In 2022, the tax amounted to 8%–9%, which for an average energy bill of £2,500 a year, amounts to a levy of roughly £200.

The other argument is that the taxes are supposed to nudge people to modify their behaviour. But I agree it can sometimes look suspicious. The government is struggling to raise enough tax to pay for all the things that people expect these days. And making people think they are helping the environment may soften the blow psychologically.

The graph below from your link is the one which surprised me. I was expecting it to have shot up over the past thirty years, but instead it has actually fallen.

But whole man made bit is played on and exaggerated to tax us more gov basically pay climate scientist to come up with man made hypophysis and then the gov use that to generate extra tax. - Don't believe me then.
Why? It's all a scam to raise tax, which they could have done in a much simpler way?

Let me explain to you why people may be confused about my statement that I believe everything in this post. Two words are missing - not mentioned once - Man Made, it doesn’t even mention CO2. So I have no argument with any of the statements above climate change is real.
So you are a denier of man made climate change and you are a denier of co2

No - not a denier - which is a loaded phrase anyway - a sceptic on the amount of influence is what I is. Mostly for the tax reasons I have pointed out - and more.

The other argument is that the taxes are supposed to nudge people to modify their behaviour.
If they want people to do that then the cleaver thing to do would be to make all the climate stuff cheaper -with zero VAT not more expensive

The main reason why energy bills have gone up so much is due to the huge rise in wholesale prices fossil fuels: oil and gas.

energy is so expensive because of fossil fuels…..something Aveatry doesn’t want to talk about, I wonder why

So what tax would you put up then.

No such thing as fossil fuels - remember - no dinosaurs were harmed in the making of oil there are no "fossils" in oil - haven’t you listened to any of the utube recommendations I have posted

Anyway you lot have had enough of my time teaching you a few things - I have things to do myself now while the beautiful sun shines - until they start spraying of course !
Bye for now.
