Forming tribes, fear of those outside the group, competing for and protecting resources.. etc.

What he hasn't really considered is, will it affect the crime numbers? My guess is crime will increase, if Mottie insists on a blanket ban on foreign arrivals.

Why do you think you get your passport scanned and stamped at passport control? Do you think they check for any criminal convictions, travel bans or warrants pending? The sort of thing that might lead to your immediate arrest and deportation?

Most of the people in this country being treated for hepatitis on the NHS, for example, are legal migrants who came here already infected with it. It’s costing us hundreds and hundreds of thousands if not millions to treat them. Fact!

Yawn. More than 40 years ago when I went to work in South Africa I had to meet certain criteria. First criteria for the employer was that they couldn’t get an indigenous person to fill the post. Then, when they had to get a worker from abroad I had to be checked out for criminal offences, I had to have a full heath check including chest X-rays, I had to have an offer of a job, I had to have a place to live (company provided) when I got there, a work permit and I had to have health insurance. I saw nothing wrong with that. It amazes me that we are allowing people into this country who we don’t even know their names, or their criminal history or their health conditions. It amazes me even more that when they get here they are housed and fed and left to roam wherever they want and we have no idea where they are or what they are doing. You'd be rightly angry and furious if one of your loved ones were attacked or worse by someone who lives in this country. You’d feel ten times angrier with those in charge if it was some piece of scum that had come into this country, was fed and housed with your money and left to roam the streets, unchecked, when they should be monitored at all times until their claim was decided.
