The last 200 years has seen rapid climate change which has been caused by man. That’s a fact.

I don't think having a couldn't care less approach is an unreasonable attitude, I don't think we (as in us humans) will ever do what is needed, we are far too selfish for that. So not really much point trying as an individual

But denying it is odd - the evidence is overwhelming, every half decent scientist in the world says it is happening - seriously denying it is 'flat earth society' territory

We need to take heed of what is happening and plan for it - because it is on its way.

Why are solar panels and batteries from China so cheap?

It's more to do with automation and state-of-the art manufacturing processes than cheap labour.

They are driven not through any altruism , but they don't have much OIL. So the cars etc have to be leccy.

They also have the huge developmental advantage that if some people get poisoned, or hit by exploding batteries, the state doesn't mind too much.

Their panels are cheap now. Trump hates it.
In the States they're working on a ground source heat pump scheme which came out of fracking experience, which looks good. You need porous rock, (in the right place) then you pump water round and it comes up warm.

Way to go.
Instead of ripping up off by charging us all for cheap wind energy at gas prices....
