Quite rare but still does happen, I`ve known it or of it quite a few times around these parts and I have seem the aftermath in some worse cases , putting chip pan on then falling asleep after alcohol does happen in these parts and you find out some people or some households do it more than once. Quite rare by percentages I agree, but it does happen. How often?
Seriously, how often?
It`s not actually a reg, it is guidance on one way of complying with Part M but I have not heard of an alternative way of complying so yes its easier to treat it as if it is an actual reg. Those heights only apply in new build houses to comply with disabled access
12m long, all within insulation, 10mm2, B45 RCBO, 45A DP switch. Electric calculation (see JPEG) says 10mm2 for 45A is fineHave you allowed for the insulation when doing your cable calculations?
10mm2 is the largest cable that will fit into a 45A DP cooker switchHave you allowed for the insulation when doing your cable calculations?
But you have selected in conduit, not enclosed in insulation!12m long, all within insulation, 10mm2, B45 RCBO, 45A DP switch. Electric calculation (see JPEG) says 10mm2 for 45A is fine
But the load will not be 45A12m long, all within insulation, 10mm2, B45 RCBO, 45A DP switch. Electric calculation (see JPEG) says 10mm2 for 45A is fine
It's Reference Method 101 = Above a plasterboard ceiling covered by thermal insulation EXCEEDING 100mm.But you have selected in conduit, not enclosed in insulation!
IF that is the case then the maximum current for 10mm² is 36A. Hence my last post. It's Reference Method 101 = Above a plasterboard ceiling covered by thermal insulation EXCEEDING 100mm.
Don't you mean thinnest cable needed?I ran, in that calculator (https://www.elandcables.com/cable-calculator), every installation method available and the thickest cable needed for 11m, multicore cable, 1 x 2 core cable, copper, single phase, 230v, 45A.. is 10mm2.
Yes, I meant thinnest cable so 10mm2. What's the most powerful all electric cooker running hob and stove all at once?IF that is the case then the maximum current for 10mm² is 36A. Hence my last post.

Once again - it won't be 45A load.

Nothing you can normally buy for domestic premises will require more than a 32A circuit. What's the most powerful all electric cooker running hob and stove all at once?
