Holy Smoke

After you published an untrue allegation

And you made up an untrue reply.
Could you show me the untrue allegation?
If I asked you what do you think I have had for my tea and you replied with chicken and rice and I havent had chicken and rice, then in your world that is a made up and untrue reply rather than a wrong guess?

post#645: Overall, there is a crucial need for more high-quality research. Given the scarcity of evidence, the routine use of cannabinoids for the treatment of mental disorders and SUDs is currently rarely justified. the Lancet

Opponents of decriminalisation often do not read reports into research of cannabis, or cherry pick the negative aspects of addiction, linking crime statistics alongside cannabis use as a way of demonising the majority of people who use the noble herb peacefully. The Dutch policy of allowing a small amount of cannabis for personal use is a sensible step towards a more tolerant attitude.

Why is there any need for a more tolerent attitude? What would benefit the population?

Well, it would avoid all kinds of clutter in the courts, dealing with widdling amounts of drug use for a start.
Why would you break a butterfly on a wheel?
I don't think you get prosecuted for small amounts for personal use anyway, doubt the courts are clogged up with such cases but maybe clogged up from dealers and criminal users.

..... law-abiding people are not obliged to read reports about it; we just want it kept away from us.

Reminds me of a quote from The Pub Landlord :

"We're honest, law - abiding, tax - paying, law - abiding, upstanding, honest people.....
.... who don't want to pay our speeding fines".

On the 'Reefer Madness' campaign of the 1930s.... I've got an LP of songs about drugs from that era, containing such titles as 'Whacky Dust', 'Reefer Man' and the all-time classic 'Who Put The Benzedrine In Mrs. Murphy's Ovaltine '.

In 'You're A Viper', the singer tells us "I'm the king of everything but I've got to be high before I can swing", which is very sad. You don't need drugs for anything.
