Holy Smoke

Well, go on then.
Several outdated, often Victorian-era laws remain technically in force across the UK, such as the Metropolitan Police Act 1839, which prohibits shaking carpets after 8 a.m. or ringing doorbells to annoy inhabitants (knock-a-door-run). Other bizarre laws include bans on handling salmon suspiciously, carrying planks on pavements, or being drunk in a pub.
All of which are ridiculous laws and should be changed.
