Most Christians in the UK only observe Easter by complaining about the size of creme eggs.

Try getting into any church on Easter day and then let us know.

I'm on several fences on religion. It's only later in life that I've realised that what I thought were universal human traits of decency, honesty and looking after others are in fact the result of our upbringing in the UK, based entirely on christianity. Others brought up elsewhere don't see things the same way, for many other cultures life is about grasping what you can and elbowing others out of the way.

But the fact is I don't believe the stories in the bible. But I don't think it was ever intended to be believed literally, it should have been a book of stories that illustrate how to live a decent life. But somewhere along the line christianity started requiring people to literally believe that the things stated in the book actually happened. This is the part I can't get on with - christianity tells me to not lie, but requires me to say I believe things that I don't.

The vast majority of Christians in the UK don't go into a church over Easter. Let alone the majority of the country.
