Holy Smoke

The United States has announced it will reclassify state-licensed medical marijuana as a less dangerous drug, a step in line with a growing trend away from penalising its possession. Schedule III is for substances with “a moderate to low potential for physical and psychological dependence”.

“This rescheduling action allows for research on the safety and efficacy of this substance, ultimately providing patients with better care and doctors with more reliable information,” Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a statement.

A 2024 poll by the Pew Research Center found that 57 percent of US adults said that marijuana should be legal for both recreational and medical purposes, while 32 percent indicated it should only be legal for medical purposes. Just 11 percent said the drug should not be legal at all.

A single dose of psilocybin, the active ingredient in magic mushrooms, can induce anatomical changes in the brain, according to research among people who took the psychedelic compound for the first time. Scientists spotted apparent changes in the brain’s structure which were still apparent a month after healthy volunteers took the drug. If confirmed, they may help explain the therapeutic effects that psychedelics can have on anxiety, depression and addiction, researchers said. the Guardian

How would I know? I know everything that anybody needs to know about illegal drugs, in me vast experience stretching back decades. Sings 'I've seen the needle and the damage done'. But whether I know or not, the knowledge was fully known before I was ever born, this is why we have the drug laws. There is no new knowledge about illegal drugs, only new lies put about by grubby little degenerates to influence younger generations!

No sign of Odds? He's probably had to take some LSD to obliterate the reality of Reform's landslide!

The thread is about decriminalising cannabis, not about heroin or any Class A narcotic; although a case can be made for using LSD in a medical context. Splineless is veering off into a world of his own. Again.
