I’m already being taxed. The tax on my state pension is automatically being taken from my private one.Pensioners.

Pensioners.

Raising the threshold gives more money to the well off than those on lower incomes.Unify income tax and NI, so pensioners pay that too.
There's really no good reason why someone on minimum wage pays NI but a pensioner doesn't. It's all just tax, it's not actually segregated in any way.
I'm not in favour of higher taxes, but at least make it fair for everyone. Perhaps raise the threshold so everyone pays a bit less at the same time.
The last few decades have been the the best time to be a pensioner - without a doubt. With each more recent decade, seeing it getting worse and worse. I know several people that retired in their 50's with gold plated generous pensions and many others with large lump sums.75% of them pay tax already

No such luck for the folk of today. They'll be expected to work until mid seventies with pittance to retire to and a swift death from exhaustion.
I'm sure that if you did a tiny bit of research you will find that the pensioners of the last three decades or so, descending from say the mid eighties to the present day, have had the best times (no world wars, cost of house purchase) and retirement ever. It goes downhill fast, from the noughties onwards both in generosity of pensions and lump sums to age at which you can retire. Not sure I agree with that.
See above.Certainly now the pensioners who are the best off are retired police , fireman, nurses, doctors etc
Agree, but irrelevant to my post and the point I made.As for the mid seventies - absolute rubbish
60 in August. Loving life. How old are you?
