John Healey (Defence Secretary) resigns.

We're spending an increasing amount, 2.5% of our GDP, on defense but our conventional forces are dwindling.

20% of that, £11 Billion a year, goes on the nuclear deterrent. That's as much as the army, air force or navy receive.
ask Ukraine what happens when you give up your nuclear deterrent?.

meanwhile Miliband's vanity projects can fund the gap.

If we bordered Russia you would have a point. We don't. When would we ever use nuclear weapons?
As part of our commitment to NATO, and I wouldn't want to be associated with any current contribution from USA toward World Peace.

It would be nice to have a tank fleet again, the K2 from Korea costs a lot, £8 million a pop roughly. We could buy 200 and increase our tank numbers by 1/3 in a year if we ditched the nuclear deterrent.

The Krab howitzer costs around £10 million each, we don't have any AS90s anymore. We could replace all of them any buy 200 new ones in a year if we ditched the nuclear deterrent.

We could buy an extra 12 F35 a year if we ditched the nuclear deterrent.

We could buy a new type 45 destroyer each year if we ditched the nuclear deterrent.

And if we spent all that money, in addition to the existing new equipment spend for the armed forces we'd still have £5 Billion to spend for that year.

put a giant dome around each community.

That'll have the added benefit for the Gumbies who can have their whites only paradise and leave the rest of us in peace to enjoy the benefits of a multicultural culture. We shall also demand they refrain from cultural appropriation: no more blues or jazz music for them - no curries, either. No more Thai food or anything else other than shepherd's pie and spotty dick for dinner.
but will that also mean we can't have the third world culture too - we seem hell bent on embracing that

see that green nutcase Polanski has been complaining over the degrading of our civil rights for jailing the protesters in Belfast, apparently we have a right to protest violently

was this in the context of saying some other group was?
It was in the context of going there and meeting with Musky senior. You cannot credibly say they are not our enemy. Our own intelligence services and the PM regularly highlight the threat.

In the same way we've embraced American culture for all those post-war years?

Haven't seen that.

if we ditched the nuclear deterrent.
It didn't stop the invasion of Ukrane, and hasn't been used by Russsia despite threats. What is the strategic justification for upgrading it, when we need more drones.

because it probably doesn't work... shhh don't tell the Russians.

avg life expectancy of a tank on the battlefield once located is 1 1/2 hours
That's assuming it's against a peer adversary. If you're facing an enemy without them they last a lot longer. Tanks are still the second best tool for killing another tank.

Plus we'd be able to treat tanks as expendable again, rather than having to treat Challenger 2 hulls like the family silver to be handed down to the next generation.

I'm sure they'd be affective against Zulus should we declare war on any.
