after last weeks results and a maybe u turn on 4x4 road tax has smirky smiler had he's last laugh at us, :? hope it comes quick the sooner the better :)

We have an unelected leader in charge of a country.
Isn't that what happens in a dictatorship?
Agreed he is useless and has to go.
An adequate bean counter does not make a good Prime Minister.

Actually, he wasn't even an adequate bean counter.

The 10p tax fiasco, the huge scale of government waste, ruin of people's pensions, distortion of the nation's accounts through abuse of PFI, vast overtaxation through stealth taxes, sale of the nation's gold when the price was at the bottom ...

Nobody will be sorry when he goes. Not even him.

Regardless of political opinions, I have to say that he is one of the most boring, characterless, charisma-lacking politicians I can think of.

It's embarrassing for those reasons alone, to have him leading our country.

There is just nothing about him which inspires confidence in him, his policies and therefore his party

it doesn't really matter who's in charge. When the world economy is on the way up (early and mid) Thatcher years and Blair years - it's a doddle - can't go wrong. When it's on the way down (Late Thatcher/Major/Cameron) - they can't do a thing right. Blair was dead lucky. In at the rise - out at the crest.

I agree 100% and, besides, there are no politicians in this country at present with any credibility (or capability) whatsoever.

The next decade is likely to be quite miserable in good old blighty ... Shame really

Yes, Gordon has achieved the amazing feat of making even Johnnie Major look like a competent leader.

When New Labour came to power in '97 they inherited an economy that Ken Clarke had turned around and was on the up. Gordo set about throwing away every advantage he'd been given. Its only beacause of a bouyant world economy that it didn't go pear-shaped before now.

Now that the excrement has hit the Vent Axia he has nothing in reserve for a rainy day. Someone will inherit a right mess, when the electorate come to their senses and vote them out.

GORDON IS A MORON!!

Personally, I think Gordon will invent some 'health reason' that allows him to leave with a bit of dignity intact (in his own mind, if nowhere else) and start claiming his pension.

The labour MPs probably need to look at getting a new leader that, even if he can't win the next election, keeps as many of them's jobs as possible. A job in opposition is far better than no job at all. If they can get away from the mindset that a lost election means a change of leader, then their new one could have a good long ru-up to the 2015 elections....

johnny-t. he makes us all sick now, so he should look at a photo of himself.

we never elect a leader... we all vote for a council.. and if the boundaries have been massaged appropriately, then whichever leader gets in...
My problem is that these 'leaders' promise allsorts... and then forget all that when they're in power....
Oh and then completely forget that they represent a democracy... which (unfortunately) seem better served by every other tabloid ! When was the electorate ever asked what it wanted - during a governments term?

like a referendum - puh !

The biggest weakness of democracy is that it comes down to a popularity contest. The b,st,rds will say anything to be more popular than the other side. You don't need to fool all of the people all of the time. You just need to fool enough of them (not hard) enough of the time.

With respect... what a load of rubbish....!

Who decided Brown was popular enough to run the country?

Well, it's been widely known for many years that Blair was going to hand over to Brown. So I suppose the country did when they voted Labour.
