Is Tommy Walsh a builder? LOL

With a name like Tomy I would have thought he had something to do with toys.

A couple of years ago TW had his mugshot plastered over the ads for a very dubious franchise outfit specialising in safety inspections.

Take it from me (can't say anymore) this lot were ripping of the franchisees and the customers big time. Most of the certificates I came across were plain fiction. The franchisees I met deeply regretted ever getting involved...they were naive and skint as a result. I even saved a few lives at one of the properties they had been to. Needless to say RIDDORing had no effect.

Like many "celebs" morals and ethics go out the window when their agent finds a nice little earner.

Other useless TV f**kwits of note include Handy Andy and Steve Toms.....never forget seeing him demonstrate his plumbing skills (actually complete lack of   ).

They give an appalling example of the construction industry

I've never done any dodgy ads in my life

I have a customer who's son worked as the sound engineer on Groundforce and he reckons that the 'stars' ie Alan Tithead and Charlie (fatbum) Dimwitt spend all their time filming takes and drinking in the pub. The real 'work' is done by a gang of contractors who sit in the van until called upon. You don't think they really get finished in the dying seconds do you? It's all sorted hours before by the contractors.

my cousin was working opposite a ground force project, he said same, presentres spent **** all time in ther and there was loads of workers doing all the jobs etc. but only when cameras were switched off

just a passing comment.

ever noticed its never anyone here who actually saw GF being made, its always a friend of a friend / relative.

but any way, how ever it was done, it was entertaining.

Of course he's not a real builder, otherwise he'd be stopping every half hour to have a smoke and read the paper.

So people countrywide always tell the same lies then?

I used to watch TW on the odd occasion but not any more - I prefer watching Holmes on Homes if it's on - I know it's different regs etc. in Canada but you can tell the guy really does like to do it right.

I have to agree. I know that it's TV and all entertainment, but I can really believe that Mike Holmes would really give some of the contractors responsible for the dodgy work he comes across a real good pasting. I find it highly entertaining.

Would you let Hulk Hogan into your home, only to lay Dark Brown wood flooring with dark red walls, all very professionally done (to code ), end result . Hideous.

Does anyone know his actual trade?

Yes he was a builder like his dad

There is no such thing, a tradesman is a bricklayer, carpenter, plasterer, plumber , painter, etc etc.
Its a bit like saying a plumber or a fitter is an engineer.

Just may be you are all a little bit jealous of Tommy Walsh and the many other DIY celebrities. Not fore there skills but of the fame and fortune they enjoy.

A builder is someone that builds or gets others to do it for him. He's usually a bit of a chancer.
