are unidentified adults usually allowed to wander about in school playgrounds?

I drop our two off at school on a morning before work, my daughter is 5 so I wait with her until the teachers come out to take them into class.

No way would I just leave her at the gate..

lets suppose the school has 400 children.

Each might be accompanied, on different days, by mum, dad, mum's shady new boyfriend, the nanny, granddad1, granddad 2, wicked uncle albert, mrs miggins from next door, some wierdo who met them on the pavement and offered them sweets, mum's ex who has a court order against him.

How many of these do you recognise?

How do you know which of them is on the register?

fair point ??

And then there's the fat bloke "with the bad back", who absolutely has to park his range rover on the school car park itself....
Still, everybody knows who he is......

I think the point may be ?????

Is that known parents will have to have a criminal record check prior to dropping there children into school premises, i.e walking there children into the play ground. ?????

Any one working in schools has to have a security check , we have to wear a pass badge when on any school premises. Although to a certain extent we are trustee's & hold various pass keys and door entry codes. As its a boarding school the entry codes at week ends are constantly changed.

A massive issue / problem occurs if some one loses a set of keys , if they are not found with in 24 hrs or cannot be accounted for , all the locks are changed that those keys fitted.

years ago the school went into shut down , every one on site was shut into the sports hall , they had armed plod patrolling the school , as some one rang the school & made a threat which was he was going to turn up & shoot people.

they tracked the bloke down to a disgruntled X pupil. Luckily we were not there or we would have been shut into the sports hall with a load of dck ead pupils & dck ead teachers :)

Primary school near me has the kids wearing hi-vis at break times despite them being penned in behind a 10 foot steel cage. Frankly when I see things like that I can't be the only one thinking the health and safety culture has gone too far

Isn't it the case that the police routinely wear yellow hi-viz jackets - except the ones with guns?

Must be a connection - or possibly even a reason.

More like the fear of being sued by parents because we live in a culture where there is always someone else to blame. We have taken the power away from the people we used to trust and replaced it with contracts and transactions.

They could find themselves in hot water if they don’t filter properly.

i wonder what they plan to do if they find something and how they then allow that person to drop their kids off
