... Let's not forget he really had the virus. He suspected his wife had the virus.... He has a 4 year old autistic child and his boss has the virus.... Don't you think he had alot on his plate while you and most of us on this forum were enjoying the sun with little much on our mind apart from what to have for Dinner.

DC is part of the running of our country, yes he's displayed the ability here not to confirm to policy but fck me, what do you want him tried for here Treason i guess? You all hate him but it just makes you look so desperate clinging to this one. And the way the press lined up with their self righteous questions yesterday.
Let me repeat id like to see him go too but this is lower than low desperate stuff.

What has become clear, is that DC answers to BJ alone, and no-one else.
From both of them there was confusion and obfuscation about whether DC told BJ about his trip before going. (Hmmm, welllll, errr, I had rather a lot on my plate at the time.)
Was there no-one else available he could have consulted or informed?
While BJ was incapacitated was there no-one at the helm, (other than DC, of course)?

When he was thinking about going to Barnard Castle to get his eyes tested, so that he could return to work, did he not think about consulting BJ, or anyone else?

Yes I cycle around those roads and along the Tees Valley...The posh people and residents call it Barrr Nard Carssell,,,,,every one else calls it Barny.

there is a lot of confirmation bias running through this thread.

the press conference by Cummings tells us little of the facts -only his version of events, much of what he said cant be corroborated:

-he said he was scared due to the press being outside -we dont know that, we dont even know if there was press outside during lockdown
-he said he and his wife were very ill -we dont know that.
-he said he went for a drive to test his eyesight -we dont know if thats the truth.

what he said may well be true and he was simply doing his best for his family, his son -but we just dont know.

what we do know is that Cummings whole career is built on manipulation of the public.
what we do know is that millions of the public also had difficult decisions to make and most did not choose to drive 250 miles.

without further evidence the press conference could have been a carefully crafted piece of reverse engineering: he might have taken all the media, and made up stories to fit the headlines.

You are over-reliant on an unproven claim.

Do you remember the Prime Minister issuing instructions to the nation that you must self isolate and STAY AY HOME? Not "go back to Downing Street and cough on people."

Can everyone who has commented on this thread truthfully say that they have stuck to the lockdown rules 100%.

One thing is puzzling though, if he was unsure about his ability to drive safely due to eyesight problems why did he take his wife and child with him on a 30 mile test drive.

Even if DC has never taken a CV19 test he can still be tested for antibodies which would prove that he has had CV19.
