Replaced one of the end terminals on my cat5 sockets. Stupidly I wired it up as per diagram 'A' instead of 'B'. Had to cut and redo it but got there in the end though with just 1/2" of cable to spare! Firestick now back up to top speed.

Butchering!
I went on a shoot on Saturday and was given 6 pheasants at the end. I gave a brace to my sister and today I butchered the four I had left. I just took the breasts and thigh meat. Boy, does it pong but that's game for you. Oh, I also saved the wings as my friend wants it to teach her dog how to retrieve and they need to get used to the feel of feathers in their mouth. I've frozen the meat and when I get some rabbit and venison I'm going to make a game stew or a game pie. Maybe one of each. (y)

Don't you have to hang it up for a while ?

They've been hanging in the garage since Saturday and I noticed the flies were taking an interest. :cautious: You can leave them longer later on in the season when we don't have such warm days.

Went for flu jab, Mrs CB waited in car for me, when i came out she had cracked the windows open to stop getting steamed up, I put my fingers in the gap to pull the door closed as she closed the window, I never even swore, felt a bit sick though it bloody hurt across the nails

I was showing someone once how the windows on my Cavalier SRI would back off automatically as a safety feature if they met any resistance such as a finger in the way. I put the fingers of my right hand in it only it didn't back off, rather it crushed them. I was driving at the time and had to stop to get my hand back. I had forgotten that they needed resetting whenever the battery had been disconnected which it recently had. It bloody hurt and I thought I had broken a finger.

I too heard of this safety feature on the Mk III Cav. But I was never brave enough to try it out, on that car or any other!

Tonight I went up to the Southbank centre in London to see a talk with Tim Peake - 'My journey to space'. It was entertaining and informative from start to finish and he talked for over two hours. My son bought it for me for my Father's Day present. I didn't realise he'd done so much in his life with planes and helicopters - he was a test pilot for a few years too. Tim Peake, not my son!

Finally got round to taking our A3 into work for a service. Mrs Mottie has been nagging me for a few weeks now as every time she starts up or switches off, it 'bongs' and gives you a message to change the oil. Anyway, I did the service (including fitting a forty five quid set of spark plugs) and cancelled the oil reminder. You can do that through the cars menu. However, when I looked at it it was due to give an inspection warning in 7,800 miles/two days! That couldn't be cancelled through the cars menu so I had to use my scanner to reset that for two years time!

According to Audi's stupid recommendations, it's getting on for a year overdue for a cam belt change. 4 years regardless of mileage. Ridiculous but I suppose I'd better do it for peace of mind.

I took on a new centre today in West London so had to schlep all the way over there. Right near to Grenfell tower. It was a sad sight and there's plenty of memorials all over the place. It must have been terrible to see in the flesh and one of my tutors who lives quite near there tells me the smell was unforgettable. :(

Early morning dog walk in a frosty park and then did day one of three on an Emergency First Aid At work course. Zzzzzzzz. One down, two to go. :notworthy:

Day 2 of my 3 day elf 'n' safety at work course. Just one more boring day....On the way home though, I popped into the Hornchurch library and snagged a walk-in covid booster jab even though it's still three weeks before I can 'officially' ask for it. :)
