So I've just installed a Pyronix Euro 76 alarm panel (Confiqured and running the system in the DEOL mode with 4.7KΩ for alarm and 2.2KΩ for tamper) in my new house and zone 4 which has two detectors wired in series according to the below (other than the tamper jumper on the second PIR is set to 2K2 not 4K7), caused a Masking error on the system.

With the two detectors wired like the above, should both detectors be triggerd at the same time, it causes a Masking error on the panel. I had a look in the programming refrence and in the settings on the panel it's self, but could see no setting to disable masking errors on a given zone.

Now being that the Euro 76 pannel will generate a maksing error between 11.6KΩ and 22KΩ when in the 4k7/2k2 DEOL range as I have it set, the fact if both PIR's are triggerd will result in 4.7KΩ (Alarm PIR 1)+ 4.7KΩ (Alarm PIR 2) + 2.2KΩ (Tamper PIR 2) = 11.6KΩ, it's not suprising to me that it generated a Masking error.

Whilst I managed to fix the issue by setting each PIR's Alarm value to 2.2KΩ on the given zone in question, which stays within the "Burglary Alarm" resistance range regardless if just one or both of the PIR's are triggerd at given moment, I am not sure if this is the correct or best fix to my issue?

How would you have resolved the masking errror, same way as I have done or difrentley?

I take there wasn’t spare cores to split down the two detectors

More that all 8 zones on the main panel had been used, and I did not want the faff of running a extra zone to the Keypad which I know can support a extra 2 zones per keypad. Plus the screened wires had already be run and fixed in place by the time I came to power up the system.

I have the zones as follows:

Zone 1 = Front door
Zone 2 = Hall
Zone 3 = Kitchen
Zone 4 = Open plan Living/Dining room
Zone 5 = Bathroom
Zone 6 = Spare Bedroom
Zone 7 = My Bedroom
Zone 8 = Office

I have the Euro 76 panel with the Digi-LAN module, two keypads (One upstairs, one downstairs), and the Euro ZEM32-WE so I can use wireless key fobs.

Does the keypad have 8 core already run to it?

You only need 2 cores? Well we actually need one, but simpler if we use 2.

The pirs are wired in what way?

Both Back to the panel, or from PIR to PIR then back to the panel.
