    Flickering light with dimmer

    Hi, I replaced a single socket with a dimmer last year. The light is a normal 40w bulb. once on it started flickering so i changed the bulb, but even with the new one its still flickering or coming on at full brightness. Any ideas what the cause might be? Cheers, Guy
