    Making paint colours

I have promised to paint my son's bedroom which is quite large and we're on a bit of a budget (aren't we all?!). If I was to buy some reasonable quality magnolia paint which I think is the cheapest colour, and add a couple of drops of blue food colouring, would the paint still be ok to use?

I really liked this lad too. Natural talent and so young too. Really hope he goes far, if not in the comp, then in his career.

Tiles above hob have fallen down.

Thanks I'll do that. One last question on this matter. Is there any way of removing the dried adhesive from the tiles so I can use them again? They weren't cheap and was hoping there is some kind of solution i can dunk them so the adhesive comes off easily. I'm really clutching at straws here...

Tiles above hob have fallen down.

I've just been having another look at this job and I think the MDF goes down behind the work tops, so removing it would leave a gap between the back of the work top and the newly put up tiles. Is it possible to remove the rest of the tiles and cover the MDF in some sort of material that the...

Tiles above hob have fallen down.

The back wall in our kitchen is tiled onto MDF which is attached to the wall (I assume it was done like this as the wall was a bit uneven). Now after only 6 months, the tiles that are above the hob and oven have fallen off. Is this because the grout dried out? How can I avoid this happening...

    Leaking roof

My god son has just moved into a new flat and when it rains heavily, rain water leaks through the wall and exits through a door frame. He went up onto the roof and there seems to be a lot of crumbling stone work around the chimney area where it meets the flat roof. Is there anything he can do...

Wallpaper or paint? That is the question.

Good point, I'd not thought of painting on lining paper, I can imagine it does look really good.

Wallpaper or paint? That is the question.

Are you a wallpaper or a paint person when it comes to decorating your walls? I'm of the opinion that if your furniture is plain, go for a patterned wallpaper. But if you've got some funky patterned furniture pieces, then stick to a plain painted wall so as not to confuse the eye.
