Add an extra socket in stud wall?

As neither a shower switch nor cooker switch, nor any other switch is required (by the regulations) for local isolation, they may be deemed useful and/or advisable for emergency switching. As such, it would seem logical to fit such switches for every appliance - or none - or are some appliances considered more dangerous than others?
Although not safe to touch in every 'emergency switching' situations, one might feel that there is no need for other means of isolation if there is an easily accessible plug that can be pulled out - after all a plug/socket is the most foolproof method of isolating, if not emergency switching!
It's strange how some things become standard or traditional for no actual reason.
That's true in virtually all walks of life - human beings are creatures of habit with little desire for change! Is there some fundamental reason why we have mint sauce (rather than something else) with lamb? .. and the "if it's not broken, don't try to mend it" view often has a lot to commend it!

Kind Regards, John

Oooh I don't. Vinegar is the devil's wee and should be banned.
Fair enough - do you do horseradish, apple, orange etc. sauces as traditional ('habit') accompaniments to the corresponding meats?

There are, for example, good physiological reasons for having, say, 'fruity' sauces with fatty meats, but the actual 'pairings' we have become used to are, I suspect, fairly arbitrary!

Kind Regards, John

No, I don't like anything like that. Not even ketchup.
Oh dear. Well, you at least know that many people do consume those things, and that the 'pairings' which have become traditional for them are probably based on not very much!

Kind Regards, John

An addional isolator is another point of failure. A while back I was asked about a dish washer which had a tingle when touching it and an adjacent sink.

Turned out the earth wire had come adrift in the above counter top isolator switch.

An addional isolator is another point of failure.
Yes, that's the other side of the equation - so, as with so many things, there has to be an assessment of relative risks, and opinions about that will undoubtedly vary.

Kind Regards, John
