It's a shame that you could BA to start such a discussion by posting something wrong when I suggested a possible reason for the equipment manufacturer saying not to use an extension lead.

People do not typically buy 2.5mm extension leads to use inside their houses. They just don't. Can they buy them? Yes. Do they buy them? Not typically.

Extension leads of the TYPE and the LENGTH that people TYPICALLY buy to use inside their houses are not READILY available. They just aren't.
